I deleted all my threads on the 53rd relating to the white CG image of the GM and modifications. Jas, I wasn't trying to be critical about your helmet and if I was I apologize. I know that "new image" cropped up well after you sculpted the helmet and didn't know how accurate that white image was to the screen GM's. TB/Capt F knows all about the GM's, I only recently delved into actually looking at all the images screen and otherwise. shadoweclipse13 No problem, it's cool, Jasons a great friend of mine and I don't want him thinking I'm disrespecting his work in some manner and if I did I just shoved my foot in my mouth Most likely a mis-communication

Yeah, Jason, you're helmet is awesome! I meant no disrespect at all. The grey strip under the eyes is just what I see, and I actually happen to like it. So even if it does turn out to be just a shadow, I'd still like to add it to my helmet. And it doesn't mean you have to redo you're helmet at all, since that grey strip can be added without changing anything. You did a GREAT job for having so little reference to go off of, and the fact that the helmet never actually existed. I honestly wish I could afford one, but I'll be scratchbuilding.

Well, just so you know mike, generally with me, most things turn out to be mis-communications. That's one reason why my posts or emails are so huge, because I sort of apologize in advance or explain my statements. Glad everything is back to normal...
My GM helmet from Jason is on it's way...Can't frakking wait.

I talked with Jason today and as it turns out it was something that happened elsewhere - not at this board so it was a big hub-bub over nothing anyone did here, on-ward to more progress pics of Jas's Gm bucket builds !

I was wondering something here. I have glasses and I was wondering if anyone who has one of the Version 1 SGB GM buckets (if any of you wear glasses) have any problem wearing them under the bucket or if you had to mod something.

I wear glasses. But I can't in my helmet. Well, technically I can. With my old padding I can fit them. However, with my new padding, I can't wear glasses. Plus, since the eyes are so high on the helmet, I tend to wear the helmet a little high on my head, so my vision isn't the best anyways, even if I did have 20/20 vision. Just don't plan on having the best vision.
I currently cannot wear contacts, but if I could, I would definitely wear them just for a little more clarity on what I CAN see out of the helmet. So you have three options:
1) Just don't wear glasses. 2) Wear contacts 3) Build your helmet's padding so as to allow for glasses. Don't let the padding go below your ears if you can, and that should allow for enough clearance.
On mine, when I used to be able to wear my glasses, the outermost part of the rims touched the helmet lenses, but you couldn't see them anyways (and I used the lenses Jason sent me).

I would really suggest contacts if they are an option for you to get right now. They are the best. If you can afford contacts get them.

I can afford them but I absolutely HATE things that close to my eyes. I really want the lasik, but for now, I am probably just going to deal with glasses inside a helmet.

bah, i just go sans eyewear. helmets make it hard to see anyway so that little bit of improvement I get from glasses or contacts doesn't really make up for ho uncomfortable they can be

Yeah but I bet you don't NEED glasses to see. I am practically blind without them. I only see major blurs with glasses off.

I can't sit in front of the computer and read it withought my glasses. I know how you feel Jason. I can't even have 20/20 vision with glasses or contacts because I also have stygmatism.
But hey if you can afford them it is worth it I hate having things in my eyes too but after you get used to these (about a week or less) You feel weird without them in your eyes. Just thought I would help you out they really are worth it.

Well, I appreciate the help, but I am VERY stubborn about things being that close to my eyes. Mentally I have no problem with it, but when my eye doctor comes at me with contacts or something like that close to my eyes, I'm like "Whoa! Back the f*** off!".
I don't think that I have an astygmatism, but my vision just sucks. It's my fault really...Um...nevermind. (lol)
