I personally think the grey areas in the eyes is plain and simply a shadow from the dome edge overhanging the face a bit.My helmet look much better with the vinyl tucked into the eye sockets. As for other things the way I designed this helmet looks closest to the colored cgi pic. The white chi pic does NOT look like the helmet in the movie. It dopesnt have the second ridge in the eye area. The white pic looks more like a snow trooper eye to me. And the GM helmet does NOT have a vader style muzzle to it under the cowl.

Because with that image, you're dealing with nothing but shadows and highlights, not having to fight through coloring and textures to get to the shape. Most all 3d models look drastically different without bump maps, texturing, and skins (or for that matter, environmental atmosophere and lighting), so it's an understandable question you have, Jas. This was revealed to be the 3d model for the GM at StarWars.com, so we consider it an official source.

Also, that grey strip under the eyes doesn't look like a shadow. Plus there's a definate edge between the white cowl and the grey.

Jason, what are you smoking? Your GM helmet may not be perfect but it still kicks some major a**!

Would be a nice change once in awhile for people to point out the good things instead of the flaws. After all these things dont really exist .....so to make something from a few crappy pics floating around the net deserves some credit. I know the helmets not perfect never claimed it was.Just seems like the harshest crirics are the ones who have never even tried to make something on their own. Ill stop whining now lol....and take my ball(gm helmet) and go home.

AHHH, I was preping for posting such a question when you posted it ! Are these other mods that can be seen as well, the "deeper cheek" and the ridge detail ? Oh, yeah feel free to move this to the helmet info area Dave as you see fit. Don't want to hijack the "SGB how to thread" Why does everyone reference this pic? it doesnt look anything like the movie used cgi version.I mean anyone can make their helmet look like whatever they want but if going for screen accuracy this isnt the pic to go with. Thats why I asked if this can be seen (in the movie). I don't have a digital version of the movie so when i look at stills for close ups it's not the best Your helmets the best Jas, Thats why I'm getting one

I hear you dude. That's why I never criticize about things I disagree on. Maybe constructively if I really truly know something, but I have never really made stuff before, so I really can't complain. Can't wait to get my helmet! Keep up the good work.

Well I know some will see this and think Im being to critical..which I admit I can be that way sometimes. And I dont want anyone to think either I want people to give me an ego stroke...my GM helmet is what it is and I like it so I guess in the end thats all that matters right. For me to re-do the whole thing cause of some minor things that no one sees unless they blow and image up a hundred times is ..well dumb. The way I see it is if you cant see it in the movie then is it really there? The movie seen GM's are in pretty much constant shadows etc.where as the colored CGI pic is a clean well lit cgi image and may have things in/on it that werent on the actual screen used GM cgi's.

Hey Jason Totally got to agree with you. I made my helmet and I used your helmet as my main reference simply because I love the way your helmet looks. I couldve used the snapshots as my reference and made a more screen accurate but I like the look of yours better. Just thought I would add that

Yeah I agree Jason. For you to redo everything (or most everything) on a helmet that as close to perfect as I will ever own, would be dumb. Besides, people are still going to call you a power ranger anyways. So what's the point of a few millimeters of something off or something like that?

I hear you dude. That's why I never criticize to that point. Maybe constructively if I really truly know something, but I have never really made stuff before. And dude, don't let the complaints bring you down. You still make nice stuff and letting them get to you would be letting them win. Can't wait to get my helmet! Keep up the good work. Making mods to helmets is what everyone does when a new "unrevealed" pic comes around. The white CG photo just came into existance just recently and was not around when TB made his costume or when Jas sculpted the helmet - Also - I went and deleted all MY posts that I wrote here relating to the mods to Jasons helmet, no disrespect was intended - nor were they complaints.

I should have clarified Mike. I wasn't saying that you or anybody here was complaining about Jason's helmet, I was just saying that he makes a nice bucket and should do what he wants to. He said that some people complain about things like that. I'm sorry Mike, no offense intended. I wasn't trying to direct that comment at anybody in particular, just saying that you should do something because you want to not because someone else said to. Again, I'm sorry for my poorly worded statement.
Mike, I also went back and modified that comment of mine. Again, it was poorly worded and I didn't mean any offense to anybody.
