Today I received the two GM chest plates I ordered from Mr.Laws and wanted to post on the quality of the chest pieces personally after being very pleased with the overall quality of them The chest pieces are very sturdy overall and the platic was pulled very evenly with no webbing or nasty dimples - anywhere ! They are also extremely smooth and basically -ready to paint right out of the box, no trimming, you can't ask for anything more than that ! It fits me perfectly with no alteration needed. email communication was excellent. Thru PM he's a little tougher to get a hold of (probably because he's up to his neck in melted plastic LOL ) but always returned his emails and the overall contract had a very fast turn around. Overall a super product. If I was to scale how pleased I am with the GM chest plates I would easily award 5 stars out of 5 with a big THANK YOU LAWS topping it off ! Capt. Ferin - eat your heart out sucker !!!! (Your's will arrive with the gun you need to paint up soon, you'll love it) heres a pic

Sweet! I can't wait to get it Mike. I'll do a side-by-side comparison of my current one with this one when I get it.

Awesome bro! I hope to get one of these sometime soon. And yes, he's excellent at email communication, and a great guy to boot.
Also, just wanted to know if you could post some quick general (doesn't have to be exact) measurements of it? I just want to see if it will fit me well.

I asked MrLaws for an overall measurement of side to side and he said it was 14" from side to side. Hope this helps.

Mine arrived today! After having hands-on experience with this, I'd like to add my 5 out of 5 star rating as well! Excellent product, great communication, great guy! I would not hesitate for a second to do business with him again. Thanks LAWS!!! Here's mine a few minutes after opening the box: And here it is on me. While there's no big problems or anything with the fit, I definatly need to drop a few pounds to get a little better fit. It sticks out a little bit (damn man boobs. ) And my camera sucks, so even though the bathroom was bright, this came out really dark. Again, this is a great product and anyone who wants to get into a GM costume shouldn't hesitate to get this!

I bought one from laws a WAY long time ago (december/early january??) and I agree with you guys...I have not seen much plastic vacuumformed (physically seen it in my hands I mean) but this is a VERY nice piece...I also would not hesistate to do business with him again...Nice guy...I think laws has set/broken the now unbreakable record for standard GM chest...I don't think that anybody will beat that quality...(formal challenge???)...I can't wait to get the rest of my armor so I can start painting all of it...I don't want to paint my chest plate just yet...I am going to paint ALL the armor at once so there will be no question about the tint/shade being even slightly off...

There are certainly aspects of it that can be improved, but it is indeed a very nice, clean piece. And the fact that each piece is trimmed for you is certainly something not to miss out on.

don't mean to sound like a *edit* here, but what would you improve captain?

The chest panel leading up to the flat belly panel is a little too rounded outward. If it were any more rounded, there wouldn't be a distinct edge between chest and belly panel. I believe it should be a more dramatic angle between the two. If you check out the first Sith Snapshot, you can see how the light reflects off of it, almost giving a concave curve between the two, instead of a convex curve, almost like the belly panel is a plateau. That's really my only crit on the actual design of the piece.
However, my other concern is it's size. I can get it to fit me, but just barely. While it would fit a super-fit, atheletic, thin body that is the size of a clone, most of us aren't of that body type. While I'm the height of a clone, I have a big barrel chest and broad shoulders. Plus I have a bit of a girth that I'm trying to lose. And like I said, mine just barely fits me. If you were any bigger, there's a good chance that it will not fit. I'd say an additional 5-15% (max) should be added to all of the measurements. I'd settle for a 10% increase. I'd rather have a part that needs to be cut down than have one that can't be sized-up.
But, again, mine fits, and once I lose some belly fat, it will fit just fine. So I'm not worried about it for myself or anyone smaller than me.

I'm actually counting on this being too big for me. Because I am really athletic and I have a small upper body.
