I agree that it could be a tad bit bigger. I'm 6 foot, 200 lbs. I think it is a snug fit and will see once I get my coveralls done. I doubt I'll have to trim......might have to add to it?

I had to add to the sides of my back plate so it could meet up with the chest. It could be a tad bigger, but overall its a decent piece for smaller guys. It was a c6900 back plate, but the sides of the laws chest could be a bit deeper for our bigger-built batch mates.

Yep I agree. Still a nice crisp piece IMO. I'm planning on adding a piece of plastic in the center of both and use velcro on the inside. The only concern I have is making sure the chest sticks out enough so it doesn't bow down and look silly.

Well, if you are adding an extension piece of plastic to attach your velcro to, you shouldn't have a problem with bowing. Unless you use some REALLY crappy plastic. I think there would be more problems with the shoulder straps than the pieces themselves sitting incorrectly.

I was thinking of fiberglassing the inside of both pieces so there isn't as much flex. I did it on my Ep2 Clone on the sides to stop it from flexing so much. If I do that I'll just go ahead and add the few inches into both, closing it up, and then cutting it down the middle. I'm kind of "stuck" because it's cold here in PA and I don't have heat in my garage so working out there with fiberglass, bondo or anything is a PITA:-(
I used ABS sheets I got at the local hobby store and industrial strenght velcro. Works like a champ. Since there is a gap on the Ep2 Clone back and front plates you really can't notice the way I have it together. It should work for the GM as well but I have to decide which way I want to go with it.
Why would I have problems with the shoulder straps? Heck you could use two pieces of rope as straps because you won't see them under the pauldron, LOL! I plan on using 1" pieces of nylon webbing for mine.

I was just saying about the shoulder straps because the way that the clone armor (GM for sure, but I think also TC) sits. The back plate just sits on your back, but the chest plate is angled a little.

I don't think the chest plate should be angled. It has to sit straight or it'll angle down ward. Kind of hard to explain without seeing. Do you have the chest plate? If so you know what I mean.

I know what you are saying. That's not what I am saying. I am saying that if you put the chest and back plates together, edge to edge, the shoulder straps don't sit perfectly symetrical. It's not a design flaw or anything, it's just the way the GM armor is. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying.

ok.......I know what you are saying. The best advice I can give is to fit it to your body. Don't put any of it together like you said. I know when I did my Ep2 Clone I ended up cutting at an angle on the sides.

I just received my Mr. Laws chect & backplate nice clean smooth cut armor pieces. My only concern as stated before on this thread is the size. I'm also 6"0 200lbs with a wide upper body.I hope it fits me ok when I add the straps & doesn't bow.
