A special thanks has to go out to Madphisto for his illustraion on the knee greeblie. The parts were made from the research he put into making the above bluprint. A quick update on the knees. I received some pics via email of the first prototype greeblies for the knees. The piece is made of 1/8" aluminum - nice and strong - sanded and finished to a brushed aluminum look. heres a pic - when they arrive I will attach them to the knee piece for pics. No price on these as of yet and I've invited the builder over here to post something soon - if not I'll keep us updated. ~Mike The bend BTY allows the greeblie to run evenly along the side of the knee so as not to "stick out " into thin air. The slots are not evenly spaced by design - see screen grabs and pics above. Also the top pic is upside down

Slight change to the greeblie already LOL - the pic was not adjusted and it should have been. The slots ARE even from the top and bottom edges. Changes made as pic'ed below.

Is the bend in it going to be that severe? Or is that how you're planning it to be? By the way, will these come with the knee plates, or are they just for your molding purposes?

No the bend will not be severe by any means and can actually be bent with some hand tools to your liking. The brackets will be made available by me. Ely stated to me that he can doa run of these if there is enough interest. I'll keep everyone posted. ~Mike

Wow these are looking really good. Hey is there a chance that we could just order the greeblies or do we have to buy the knees too?

I'll keep everyone posted. ~Mike [glow=red,2,300]*EDIT* the brackets will NOT be available by me - Ely Will do a run of the brackets only if there is enough interest in them. [/glow] I'm hoping some folks over at the BARC board jumps in on this as well to whip up enough interest for a run The knee plates I'm making are for me but having the molds, if anyone was interested, I can make some for folks once the final mold is done. The knee and greeblies are not like a package deal by any means. I was just sharing the research and development of me making the BARC and GM knee armor. Perhaps a Interest list for just the greeblie plates would be appropriate to post at this time pending price and a finished pics?

Hey do you have the height of the greeblies (ya know the part that actually connects to the knee plates) Cause I am wondering if these would work for my Vac formed knee plates. Hey also would these work as resin casts? Or would they be too brittle. Because If the would work as resin casts I think I will make myself a pair and make resin cast to go with my knees.

I am DEFINITELY seriously interested (whenever they become available) in a set of knees...I REALLY need a nice set of knees for my GM armor...The greeblies...Maybe...I will wait to see what everyone else thinks and how they look assembled...By the way, Mike, how heavy are the greeblie pieces?

They are extremely light being made from 1/8" aluminum. They should fit any knees as long as they are somewhat accurate or roughly close to size and I'll keep track of who needs or wants what in this thread as it grows.
