I will be finishing the base sculpt/model on the FG GM knee plates very soon and will submit some pics at that time. They are the same plates as the BARC's so I had planned to fabricate them from the start.

The knee piece pic'ed below is preped and ready for the 1st molding. After pulling the preliminary piece it will be refined and the "indents" along the seam areas will be notched in as needed. Also, any refinement will be done at this stage prior to the final mold being made. After the piece is finished a final mold will be made of the completed piece. ~Mike

By all means continue to make your knee armor. Alot of people prefer vac formed stuff over FG resin parts especilly in bitter cold enviroments. I for one would be interested in a vac'ed pair. The only reason I'm doing them is for my BARC costume and they just happen to be the same.
They have been molded BTY and the final version will be pulled and modded. I'll post comparision pics with the final version at that time.

Hey Mike if I can make a suggestion to your knees that you are making. I would really like to offer my advice on them. At what I can tell the bottom of the center part is just too thin. Now they are not Terribly too small but like 1/4 inch maybe 3/8 too small. The funny thing is I made the bottom of mine about 1/2 inch too big probably even more. Now please keep in mind that I am only making a suggestion as a friend to help you out. Also your offer on cooperating with someone who owns a vac table. I would gladly bring some of your amazing work to life. I really want to help your stuff come to life because you make incredible work. I would of course make sure people understand that it was your work and not mine. I would not claim any part of it except that I vac formed it. Now I understand if you don't want to but I would love to work together with you on your Gm project and others.

i can't help you much, but i think you only have it on the left side of the right knee, i couldn't see it on the left one.

I'm pretty sure it's on both knees and both sides. It wouldn't make sense any other way to me. It looks like a strap attachment system of some sort. But I could be wrong.

It's kind of tricky, i can't find a picture with a view of the external side of both knees, but in this picture, look ate the gm on the left of bacara: if it indeed is on the right side of the left knee, then it definitely have to be painted black. unfortunately this is from the same point of view. I tend to think it is only on the right knee, but i don't know if on the left side or both... or maybe it could be on both knee, only on the left side. this could make sense if the cgi modeller forgot to mirror it during the 3d modeling process

I personally think that it looks cool and that it is on both sides on both knees...It would just be part of the straps (and for the straps to attach to on the costume)...Cool idea pghfett...
