What is being used at this time a good base undersuit for the GM costume. Is it particular coverall brand and color ? I'm starting the hunt for a good base to start from color wise. Dave, any input on this ? Perhaps a brief Tutorial on what you did ? I hate asking you (knowing how busy you are) but you are leading the way Captain...LOL ;D And besides yours looks d**n good......

Mine is hand-made, by myself, out of a modified pants pattern. I made the pants like normal, but instead of finishing off the top section with a waist band, I added two panels (front and back). This allowed for the detail-less belly section. It's held up with suspenders, overalls style.
If I had the sewing knowledge I have now, I would have made them differently. But I might remake mine at a later date anyways.
But if you're going to look for overalls, they need to be a good medium gray, and canvas/duck cloth-like material. There is NO detail on the belly panel (no seams, zippers, pockets, nothing. If what you find has pockets on the sides of the legs, you'll need to remove them and put new ones on the front of the thighs.
If you find anything, do post it! I want to see what's out there.

Now knowing the Belly is clear of any details, I just figured then to, well, put it on backwards !!! and zip it from the rear.

Anything with pants are typically sew larger in the back to allow for comfortable sitting and to prevent the back from sliding down as you sit or move your legs up. So it's not a symmetrical fit from front to back.

I don't want to start another topic for this, so I'll just post in here.
From looking at some reference pics, it looks like they're wearing a full jumpsuit instead of pants and a clone top. I'm not saying anything bad about your suit, CF. Just wondering if I'm just seeing it wrong?

Please note that I never claimed my suit to be accurate, so don't think you need to double check all your references on my suit. By all means don't. You're seing it right. My suit was built using early reference and discussion. I've since come to realize that there may be a one-piece undersuit. However, please realize that the ribbing *probably* is present in the sleeves. It may not be a black sleeve, but it does appear to be darker than the rest of the jumpsuit. Also take into consideration that if you're to pull off the look correctly, you cannot simply put different sleeves on a gray jumpsuit. You'll have to have the entire chest-up section of the jumpsuit match the material of the arms.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of using a cover-alls type of pants with a TC shirt. Just looks more comfortable to me.

The thing I like about my setup is that I use an UnderArmour shirt for my TC shirt. Of course, in my photoshoot I used the accurate looking sweater, but for trooping I use the UA shirt. LOTS more confortable. It doesn't do too much for my torso since I have the backpack harness under it, the coveralls over it and then the armor over that. But it makes my arms really cool during events. And at events, whatever amount of skin you can get to cool down is enough! Believe me there!
I'm gonna stick with my setup for future upgrades. However, I do plan on remaking my coveralls from scratch though, since I know more about sewing now.

Hope you make it in XXL. I was just about to order my BDU's to begin my conversion, but I bet yours will be better than anything I come up with. I still think the GM Kamas would look better in vinyl. Any thought of making them out of that?

Wow Jason that is quite a progect to start. That will be a really hard thing to do. It will be hard to make a jumpsuit that fits everyone. Have you thought about making like a small and a large and an XXL for Ianl's sake? As far as the Kama goes I did one out of winter weight fleece for Tim awhile back and He loved it. Also If you want any help (such as measurements or materials or methods) just PM me or email me.

Jason does Boba Fett jumpsuits over at TDH, so this won't be anything different. I actually spoke with him about it a long while back, and it will basically be a jumpuit with the closure up the back.

I believe Jason custom makes the suits to the measurements of the person purchasing one. At least that's what he does for his Fett suits, and I don't think it would be different for these GM suits.
Can't wait to see the prototype!

obviously since Jason has not made them yet, nobody but him would know, but you mentioned his Fett undersuit...What kind of general price RANGE should we expect? If the price is fairly reasonable, I will probably buy one...
