Hey all, I am posting this for midniterider, he is finishing up on the design for 53rd FAC Racing Style shirts. The concept... The 3 devil dogs within a elongated diamond, and on sides of the diamond have the 3 primary objectives of the 53rd FAC...INFILTRATE, , NEUTRALIZE, LIBERATE.

Greetings Marines, Troopers, and Cadets:

Some time has passed since our last merchandise run (little over a year), and I have been tossing around a lot of ideas. Once again, with the assistance of a fellow Garrison Carida member, Jim Cannon, I am designing a 2nd supplemental logo to the first logo designed (challenge coins and patches). With this new merchandise, I have decided to incorporate the DEVIL DOGS (courtesy of Krazy Ivan), as seen on the "Devil Dog Lounge" thread. I thoroughly read and studied the history of the 53rd Fast Attack Company: it origins, its purpose and missions, etc., as described by the creator of the 53rd FAC and RamzNation (currently found on the GENERAL DISCUSSION section of our forums). Upon further review, I feel that I have captured the three (3) cornerstones of the 53rd FAC (a special division of the 27th Nova Corp. lead by Commander Bacara):

INFILTRATE
NEUTRALIZE
LIBERATE

So a basic description of the logo will have 53rd Fast Attack Company across the top of the logo, and on the sides (going downward in an arch) will have "Infiltrate" - "Neutralize" - "Liberate". In the center of the logo, will be an upgraded Devil Dogs and possibly a gray republic cog in the background.

Once the logo is complete, very soon, I will post up pictures.

Now, we may have an opportunity to have racing jerseys manufactured. These shirts will be dye sublimated, just like the racing shirts the Australians were wearing at Celebration VI. Special thanks to Dan for posting up the prototype images of the shirt (see above). Putting together the final ideas for design, but will have the Devil Dogs on the back, right between the shoulder blades. Then we will have other logos and emblems placed on the shirt, and I will post up more information as images and designs are finalized. If all goes right, these shirts are going to look amazing, and the price should be very reasonable.

Here is the "rough draft " or prototype of the new, alternative logo. Looking at possibly doing a patch and perhaps a challenge coin run as well. We shall see how the racing shirt pans out (price, minimum order, interest from members, etc.). Currently working on the layout of the shirt (just finished up the devil dog logo this evening). A patch and challenge coin run would be rather inexpensive.

The first post (by danrodjr on my behalf) has been updated with a new prototype of the racing shirt. The final touches are being added to it, but wanted to present it to the members.

The "Devil Dogs" is a motivational nickname used by the U.S. Marines. The name can be traced back to the Battle of Belleau Woods during WWI in 1918. The marines tenaciously drove the Germans out of a strongly fortified, wooded position in France. Legend has it, the marines were referred to as "Teufelhunden", meaning "fierce fighting dogs" or as popularly translated, "Devil Dogs". This new logo pays homage to this but adds a sci - fi twist to it.

Alrighty troopers, the final artwork and mock up of the proposed racing shirt has been updated and posted on the first page. At this time, I am going to get estimates and a quote to get the pricing. I may have an opportunity to jump on an order with a Garrison / Detachment, which should keep the price lower and reasonable. Once the logistics are figured out, I will notify everyone.

The right sleeve was left empty to allow members or troopers to place a patch of their country, and directly below that is a space to place your Garrison / Outpost logo. The epaulets will have "GALACTIC MARINES" on them, NOT "Imperial Forces" (that was put there to show the writing. I am undecided to place Republic cogs next to the GALACTIC MARINES. Would love to hear your input.
