I need a little do over here. I got too excited and wanted things to happen right away. So I posted a want ad instead of introducing myself and becomeing an accepted member of the heard. So here I am to correct that mistake.
My name is Sebastian and I am a long time Star Wars fan from Jamestown, NY. Last weekend I went to a toy con in Pittsburgh, PA and saw members of the 501st for the very first time in person. I was amazed and I knew instantly that I wanted to wear a costume like that. I have tried making my own stuff before but it always has been cheap knock offs that looked ok from a distance but never could be considered screen accurate. For the opening of AOTC I made a Boba Fett costume. The "armor" was made out of placemats. The guantlets were made out of sheets of foam. The jetpack was styrofoam. And so on ect. The only thing that was close to accurate was the Don Post helmet that I modifed to be pretty close to screen accurate. Then for the release of ROTS I made a Gamorrean Guard costume. The body was an inflateble sumo suit from Wal-Mart and the head was a Don Post mask. The head was way too small for the body and I looked pretty stupid. But so far I have been the only one in costume at a Star Wars opening in my town.
I want very much to have a super accurate costume that will allow me to join the 501st. But I don't want just any costume. There are plenty of easier and cheaper costumes out there. But that is not me. I want to be unique, or at least realatively so. Ever since I saw the Galactic Marines shoot down Ki-Adi-Mundi I have been in love with the look of this costume. Before that my favorite was the Snowtrooper but they have been done quite alot and I like the splash of color.
So here I am. I have joined up with you all hoping to be able to make my own GM costume. There are lots of great resources here. I am slowing pooring through every post gaining the knowledge I need. Again I want to say I am sorry for the way I first came off.
