I was wondering if I / we could use our 53rd logo and have some 3" or 3 1/2" patches made up for us. The final design would be submitted to the Capt for final approval and I would take care of the rest as far as intial costs and ordering. I'd love to have a "uniform" style patch for off duty gear. Some companies provide embroidered patches with all different types of backings - velcro, adhesive ect...
Lets post some ideas, I'm kind partial to the Capts. shoulder patch which I have two of.

The shoulder decal is based directly off the logo you see at the top of the forum. If a patch was made, I'd prefer it to be of the image above (with metallic silver a deep burgundy). Or in the very least, I'd enjoy seing that logo as part of the patch. Maybe have "GALACTIC" on top and "MARINES" on the bottom or something like that.

This is a Great Idea wish I had the appropriate software to make the designs but sadly I don't. I think we should also I hace some sort of underarmor shirt or black thermal underwear that we sew the patch to and then we would all have an out of armor uniform.

Also, someone here, I believe, designed a non-53rd-specific Galactic Marine patch that was quite bitchin'. Like I said, it wasn't 53rd-specific, but I'd enjoy having one. Perhaps we should look into getting both made. That way, if we ever decide to do some kind of uniform shirt, we can have the generic GM patch on the right shoulder or right breast, and the 53rd patch on the left shoulder.

I too was loving the idea of the logo above using silver thread for the logo and a metallic deep burgandy for the background color. What do you fellas think ?
Capt can you send me a pic of the logo by itself to get a quote ?

I'm not sure what you're asking, honestly. Could you specify? Mike is the one with the idea, I just emailed him the logo that's at the top of the forum.

Sounds great, I just finished doing a run of patches for the Legion.
Mike if you send these out for quote, let me know what kind of numbers you are getting. I can probably get them made for $3.50 or so each (less depending on quantity, but I'm assuming we won't need more than 50-100 of these).

ianl,
feel free to see what you can do on your part. I'm winging this on my part still looking for a company to do the patches but if the 501st has a vendor they use we can use them as well.

I would be VERY interested in both designs (53rd and non-53rd also)...I would probably buy at least two or three of each...

The person I use is a local embroiderer. By no means "Legion approved" but can handle a patch with 100% embroidery and heat sealed backing.
Send me the artwork, and let's get a rough idea of how many we'd need. tsbh7197@gmail.com

I'd love a couple of each design! This is a great idea! I definatly like the idea of the metallic silver and burgandy for the 53rd logo.

I just heard back from our patch maker.
$3.35 ea + tax (about $0.25 more). That's for a min order of 50. If I did the order, there would also be shipping and pp fees as well, so assume about $4.25 per patch shipped.
If you guys want me to do it, I'd like to get payment up front. I will see about a graphic mock up before production starts to "proof"
