Ok, I'm starting to dig around and have noticed a lot of older threads of varying months and years. I was wondering what's up with a diffinative what's what and what's being used as a standard for pretty much everything.
I have my own ideas for what i want to use based on pictures as far as the soft stuff goes. Here goes;
Under suit - I was going to make a modified set of coveralls, and possibly use some sort of ribbed sweater for part of the top. I dunno if that'll pass an in ranks but that's all I can gather from what I've seen so far.
Knees - I was going to try to fabricate my own instead of buying so I'll post links once I get something substantial going.

Unfortunately, the CRL for the GM hasn't been completed yet. And to add to the fun of this costume, this isn't something you can buy a kit for. It kind of has to be pieced together and modified from other existing parts. There are individual makers for the chest/back plates, and helmet. There's someone who's currently working on the knees, shins, and boot armor over on BSN. Technically hes working on the Kashyykk (or however you spell it) trooper armor, but these pieces are the same on the GM for the most part. The arms, except for the shoulders, are the same as the regular clone armor.
I dunno if any of that helps - probably just confused you more, huh?

That's cool, I kinda figured some of the arm pieces where standard tc and the chest plate was different and possibly the back different. I more or less knew the knees where the same, but the shim looks a bit off but fairly doable. I was planning on tracking down some meaty looking treaded shoes and playing with Vynal to get what I want. I was also going to make some actual foot armor plates and incorporate them into the boot so it looks more like it should. here's what I did for a clone shoe, I did have it all white but planned on using it for a custom but lost interest in that route I guess what I was really looking for was a set in stone, do this, use this, make it look like this kinda thing. If some of the items are still up for interpretation than it does make it easier to get some small personal touches in.

As you may have noticed things have changed alot through out the months/years. Pretty much the new posts are more standard to the GM. As Jen mentioned above there is no definate CRL for the Galactic Marine at the moment. Fabricating your own stuff should be the best way to go, and you can always modify your costume as it will always be a work in progress. Currently my GM is in pieces as I am refining it from the original build (you can see in a few pictures I've posted). Currently my armor is not cannon since I'm using standard Gray BDU cargo pants, and a black long sleeve under armor type of shirt with a Gray T-shirt over it. Which I know is not cannon but for the sake of appearance it works until I can go to something better. If you can fabricate you own knees that would be cool as long as the look close to the actual GM kness from the screen caps. For my GM, I am using as set from [glow=red,2,300]pghfett[/glow]. You can send him a PM if you are interested in them. I know a few members here use those. The Shins are pretty much standard TC shins, with a little crafty work you can do (Bondo) and adding some straps and for the toe armor, that's basically what you have to do. Good work on your clone shoe. You'll see there's not much work you need for the GM version of it besides the greeblies on the armor and tracking down a good shoe or boot for the sole.

Yeah, I've been looking for a good shoe lately since I want to get all my soft stuff done at the same time and work on my hard stuff as the weather breaks for the better. I think I might go with something I noticed at walmart, it's got some meat to the tread and has a high arc but I need to track my size down.

The shoe is the hardest part of the costume to get as the actual Keneth Cole boot is no longer made, and there are no others out there that look the same. Best thing to do is keep an eye out for something good. Lots of GMS recommed the Journey's GBX. Walmart is an awesome place to go as they usually have a lot of things needed such as fabbrics, shirts, gloves, glues, etc.

The GM boots are based on the Jango boots. If you're lucky enough you might be able to find some KC's or maybe even some Bed Stu's. The GBX boots are close too. Snowflake found some Sketchers that were close. Unfortunately, though it's really hard to find good boots.

I think journeys in the mall has a lot of shoes that might work but I might need toyhunter and a few others to come down so we can fight our way through the emo mall rats. Those kids are gooney as shieza.

I got the ones I bought from shunned who sold my GM, they are size 10 (and I'm an 11). If any one wants them I'll sell them $50 which what he mentioned cost when I bought them. I'll put pictures of them later on. The boots are already cut on the top, and the sole is already painted. I never touched them since I got them as they don't fit me.
