Been awhile since I've been over here huh? One of my close friends who does custom silk screening is wanting to get into doing T-shirts for me. So he asked what I'd like to do and I said a Galactic Marine! So here is what I am thinking.........I'm going to get him to do the 53rd logo and "Galactic Marines either on top or down below. It'd be all one color to keep the cost down. He said printing on a white shirt is the cheapest way to go so maybe maroon on white? Black on white? Grey on white? Maybe the cog in grey, 53rd in maroon and white shirt?
Keep in mind these wouldn't be official 501st shirts. So what do you guys/gals think? Any interest out there? What type of price point are you looking at paying?
Interested in a shirt Sept 8: 1. Toyhunter80's 2. Leo73 3. TC0437 4. Ramznation 5. Journeymanprotector?? 6. Shadowclipse?? 7. am1sh2el3 8. jonstarr 9. darthjen

Hey, great idea Wally. I think maroon 53rd logo and lettering on a white shirt. "Galactic" in an arc above and "Marines" in an arc below.
One problem, who owns the rights to the 53rd logo? Is it Torso Boy? Do we need his permission to do this?
I have the "designs" saved somewhere of the last person to have this idea. I will see if I can get those posted.

I thought there was an "issue" with contacting him? I'm sure a shirt or two thrown his way would help:-)
Ok so maroon on white with the "Galactic" in an arc above and "Marines" in an arc below. even better then I was thinking!
If you are "interested" please PM me so I can make a running list of who is down for one and what size so we have an idea of what to order. He's hoping to get 20ish orders and maybe have a sample ready to show within the next 2 weeks.

I like this color scheme with but written in gray aurabesh. I would be in for a couple at about $15 Remember, more than one color will mean an increased cost. I like the idea of the arc-ed words in grey though. But we might want to keep it all one color just for cost. As for the Aurabesh, I vote no. It looks cool, but it would make more of a statement if everyone could read it. It's hard enough to explain what a GM is without having to explain a Star Wars alphabet too. I would be in regardless of cost. If there was any way to get a Galactic Marine put on the shirt somewhere too I would love that. I have been wanting a shirt for a long time. I had thought of a GM on the front and the 53rd logo on the back with the arc-ed words. Or the other way around. IDK

Here are two designs that I saved. I think they were originally posted on CT.net or here maybe. Either way a search for the originator today brought me nothing. So I post them here for you to see, but I have no way to credit the creator. It is pretty clear that the model GM is Torso Boy.

I like the idea of just the simple maroon cog logo on white shirt with gray letters, but if we do the words in Aurebesh, my suggestion would be do Aurebesh on above/below the cog and the same in English opposite that, both in grey letters. Don't get me wrong, I love Aurebesh, but it's the same with Mando'a, not every fan knows it and it would be nice to have a translation so as not to leave them out.
Another idea, maybe instead of white shirt, white baseball T (white center with maroon sleeves)?

I love the look of the baseball style shirt. Either short, 3/4, or full sleeve? Or what about maroon ring neck and sleeves?

I'm down for either style with the lettering. To me though, when you write something that people don't automatically recognize, it peaks curiosity. And some will ask what it's all about. I am not into dumbing things down to make it easier for people who are only going to criticize the nerds in plastic. NIP=me. Just my 2 cents. Like I said, down for either style

SgtCarida I'm definatley in! If they are white, would it be pissble fore me to send you a Black T-Shirt instead? I don't like White T-shirts too much. Possible idea for the Look (it mght be too much, though): [glow=red,2,300]Front:[/glow] Galactic Marines in the left breast area (in cool but readable font ... so no Aurebesh ). maybe also in the arc as mentioned above. [glow=red,2,300]Sleeve:[/glow] The 53 Circle logo on the Sleeve (similar to a Military Chevron?)? [glow=red,2,300]Back:[/glow] Maybe one of the images that was posted above. I like this oneL With the full image I posted above for the sleeve covering "Vode An"

We all have some great ideas. It will be very hard to please every one of us.
tc0437, I see what you are saying about the aurebesh, but I can't read it with out a decoder ring myself. I really would rather have it readable by all.

To please those who want Aurebesh. Is it possible to have the title written in English, and have a faint or Subttle Aurebesh shadow? ...maybe something like this? *Colors (and English Font) can always be different.

I can't remember. Just Google "Aurebesh Font", and I'm sure you will find something. I think I got it at 1001freefonts.com
