Hey everybody,
Thinking about how to make my shins and wondered if anyone had used the same marine vinyl as the cowl?
If it were doubled up, it should be pretty sturdy. Just place a strip of plastic on the front and put the straps on. The vinyl shin could wrap around the calf and connect in the front, behind the vertical plastic piece.
I'm just thinking that it would probably look very close to accurate and, with the detail pieces, would not appear to be out of place.
Anyone try this? I know the current guess at legion standards don't give any specifics about the material or other construction of the shins.
Thanks,
Phil

I made a base out of cardboard and covered it with white marine vinyl. Looks great!
Picture coming soon

I'd like to see the pics when you get them. I've got Sgt Carida's suit and I know he openly expressed dissatisfaction with his shins. They look to be vinyl also with a hard support inside. They are are solid as a cast, hard as hell lol. I think with some weathering and, like you said, an inner support, the vinyl would work great. Once I finish my current class (it's kicking my butt!) I'm going to start on the shins and see what we get Phil
