Ok, I know the bucket is going to be a major thing. I have not found any decent sources myself for one. Can someone PM a list of possible bucket sources for the GM?

Some guys have gone and bought, then modded baseball batting helmets. There is a guy who makes the GM helmet. I don't know if he still sells them, but I think he might. I think your best bet is still to make one though.

I saw the one that was built from a skater helmet. Any other suggestions for a good base to use? (other than baseball or skater helmets)

I have an idea. but I need some input on this. What do you guys think about molding sintra or plastic around a skater helmet. I was looking at the various helmets at Dick's sporting good, came across this idea. The helmets themselves are not too far from the shape that one would need for the top portion of the bucket, once that lower portion should be no trouble wrapping the lower part, the rear vent can be cut with out a problem using the bottom of the helmet as the top of the vent. Anyways if you can think about this and get back to me with any feed back please do.

That's a good idea, but if you are just going to use the helmet as the mold, I don't see why you wouldn't just use the helmet itself?

I wasn't thinking mold. but that style of helmet is a little high in the front, but that can be fixed

You're talking about using the helmet itself to mold sintra over or vacuum-form with. It would be the mold.

ok, I see what you are getting to. I was actually think of wrapping it in the sintra, instead of directly building off of it, so yes I can see what you mean by mold.

I gotcha. That would probably look decent actually. Just using the helmet as a base, and using gluing (or attaching somehow) the plastic "permanently" to the pre-existing helmet. I like it!
The only issue I can think of right now, is the rear vent. You will still have to cut away some of the existing helmet to get some air flow in the helmet.

that's what I was saying as well the bottom of the rear of the helmet is right at the top of the vent. So if you use that as the base line of the top, measure roughly 1/2 inch to an inch (Not sure the actual dimensions of the vent) in thickness. And then across. Should have a decent spot for the vent.

It should work. All you can do is try it.

I would say 7/8th of an inch thats what an SGB is
