Hello everybody,
I have a little bit of free time tomorrow (VERY little), no work, and very little house chores...I am feeling very creative and such and was wondering if everyone has a mannequin or something like it to display their armor (if they have a suit now or are in the process of building one) because I built a PVC mannequin (with a custom head!) and was wondering if anyone would like pics and/or a quick tutorial?

If you wouldn't mind, I for one would definatly appreciate it! I've been wanting to build one to display my Mando, but now that I'm starting on the GM, I'll probably display that instead. At least until I get my Fett done.

I will put some detailed and finalized pics up tomorrow...The only thing that I have not done on my mannequin yet is glue it together with PVC glue...I am kind of waiting to do that until I have a suit or armor because (and you will see this when I post some pics) with the angle of the legs, it MAY be difficult to hang my armor on it with EVERYTHING glued together...But I think I came up with a way to correct that...
As I said, you will see what I mean exactly when you see some pics, but I think I am going to glue EVERYTHING together (arm assemblies, chest to torso and torso to pelvic area) except the pelvic area to the legs...Because with the angles of the mannequin, the LEGS will probably be difficult to get the calf, knee plate, and thigh armor on with the leg to pelvic area glued...
I will post some pics tomorrow...If you want, I can also scan my measurements that I used (my body size) and my basic drawings for them...I will also include some pics of my custom PVC head which is pretty cool, but with a clone bucket, may be unnecessary to build...I built the mannequin originally to display my Jedi robe, so I built a full-sized (human sized) head so would look correct with the hood up...But for helmets, I have a VERY SIMPLE modification that you can do instead of the head that will work VERY nicely...I am pretty excited about sharing this, so I MAY post a few pics tonight (I have a few pics that I show off to friends), so I may post those and get the rest tomorrow...

The Captain made a really decent mannequin - I'm sure he'll see this and put on a show and tell

Cannot wait. I am so excited to see a mannequin cause I want to make one soooo bad.
BTW for all of you who are wondering Saturday I vac formed some knees and some calfs. The only prob is that because of the thickness of my plastic the knees bunch up, BUT with some sand paper I have made them just as sharp as they need to be so If you want to put some work into it you can order right now. My calves I think are too small. So I have a plan to make a calf that will fit everyone besides Ianl (or was it Anrev). Just take a measuring tape and measure around the biggest part of your calf. Make sure you just measure the calf not the shin too JUST the calf.
I will post pics in my thread as soon as I can tomorrow.

TUTORIAL IS UP! Please put all questions and comments over there (not to sound strange, but just for my own sanity. It's better to reply to A LOT of posts on one thread, than many on multiple )
