DC-15S Republic Commando Sidearm Source: Republic Commando As seen in: Republic Commando This weapon is common in Commando units, but it has found it's way into many smaller units in the Republic Army. One such unit is the 53rd FAC. While it is not wide-spread among the 53rd's troops, it has been taken up as the sole weapon of Captain Ferin, leader of the 53rd. The RC pistol is known to have similar range to the DC-15L Long Rifle, and is known to have similar power, even at range. Considered the Desert Eagle of the Star Wars universe.

Why are all 3 weapons (except chain gun) called the DC-15? Seems a little strange to me.

Fresh form the Republic Armory...LOL (had to say it...sorry) ;D Well, After much time and revisions, the basic DC17s kit has been given my green light after successfully pulling one complete kit as seen below. The kit pulls fairly clean, some small amounts of work need to be done to the seam and some other minor pinhole issues like any other model, but for the most part IMO a nice model kit to work on. I would like to thank David Reimer (T)orso(B)oy for trusting me and allowing me to mold this up for him as we all know this was his baby. The kit will have all the parts seen in the pics below, to assemble the weapon. If anyone was interested I have told Dave we would need at least 4 persons to do a run, 4 more for the next one, and so-on and so-fourth. Also this is a MODEL KIT - and will require some modeling skills to complete (as stated above) as most people are like me and like to add their personal touches to their props. Contact TORSOBOY if your interested, not me ;D I plan on painting one up for "finished pics" purposes as well as provide a tutorial on how and what I used as I go along. Well, submitted for approval, WITH and WITHOUT flash (I apologize in advance for my poor photo skills) is the model after some minor clean up of flashing and the mold plug removed.

Mike I am so happy how well this turned out. Your charge counter just adds so much more flare to the gun - I especially like how you did that little bump at the hinge point! More pics to add to the folder!

These are the only pics I had taken of the kit at this point, the next set will be of the work in progress/finished pics. I was just happy about getting it to this point and had to post something LOL Oh, yeah - and thanks again for sharing your artwork with me - just wanted to acknowledge that publicly ~Mike

Ok mister "I'm not putting it up anywhere, just sending it to you." HAHA! This is looking fantastic. I like the rust around the hinge point.

Well, After alot of time and work I submit to you all the finished DC-17s Republic Commando sidearm. Thanks to TB for trusting me and sending it to me without question, not knowing me from a can of paint at the time and also for his great work once again on sidearms (looks like the HS Fett gun going just as well). I have found a great friend in this hobby in TB a.k.a. Dave R. I might change some minor details to make it a little more accurate but I took too much time on it already (sorry TB). Molding this up was very tedious as Jason can attest to when it comes to building up the clay dams for weapon molds. Enough already !!!!! - the pics...... ;D [glow=red,2,300]FOR SCALE - MY STUBBY PAW !!! [/glow]
