I'd like to make a formal apology to Nyghtcraft for my uncalled-for behavior toward his apparent lack of communication between us. First, a bit of background that I feel I need to get out.
Over the past few months, I've used the email applet on his website to try and contact him several times. My my estimates, no less than 8 or 9 times (including these last two messages). These messages were for various inquiries, pauldron sizes, costs, heck, even a message expressing my desire to buy something. Each time, I did not receive a reply. At first, I did consider the idea of him being busy, or otherwise away from his computer. Weeks later I'd send another message, still no response. During this time, I was posting often on CTN, and I was watching as fellow CTN members got their new pauldrons, expressing their joy about the product and the maker. So I came to believe that somehow these people got in contact with him. So I messaged those people, who then forwarded me back to the email applet on the webpage. Same thing, no response.
EDIT: I'd like to add here, that I never thought to consider that the emails might not have made it past the email applet. I know these things can be tricky at times (I myself have had such an applet before), and emails may not get sent... on a regular basis. There are just so many things that I didn't stop to consider, in addition to the possible email applet problems.
Then with Anrev, here, said he contacted Nyghtcraft about a potential GM mantle, I sent out an email again, inviting him here to gain some potential insight into the mantle (among other points of interest). No reply again. Frustration set in, and then finally culminated in my posting of out-of-line comments on the lack of communication when I saw that the mantle was developed and made available.
So I emailed him one last time this after noon, asking him about the GM mantle, costs, etc. This time I did get a reply. But instead of calmly accepting the reponse as a typical response, I took it as "Finally I get a reponse!" I won't say that this feeling is unique to myself, since I imagine this happens a lot elsewhere, not related to Nyghtcraft, but it is still an uncalled-for outburst of unnecessary tension and discontent.
I humbly accept this as my error. It was immature, to say the least, and that is not the image I want to project of myself, on the internet, or anywhere else in life. Since I joined the costuming community, I've grown as an individual, having gone through ordeals that many of you have gone through or will be going through in the future that will originate from miscommunication. These ordeals have led me to grow in maturity in other areas of my life, but this uncalled for series of insults is certainly a step back for me. So I'd like to apologize for my immaturity, my lack of patience, and disregard for obvious explanations that I could very well have determined for myself (being busy, work, etc).
Nyghtcraft, I respect you as a fellow artist and craftsman. Your products are unlike anything I have ever seen, and I certainly strive to attain such high quality in my future prop-making endeavors. So once again, I humbly apologize for the error in my ways. I sincerely hope we can put this behind us as of now, because it would be an honor to have you be a contributing member of this community, and I can only hope to call you friend one day.
Thanks for reading. I certainly have a lot of thinking to do.
