Good day gang! I am begining the process of scratch building my own pair of Galactic Marine boots, for my non-canon snow commander. The boots are a Rieone design and are considered by many to be the most accuratly reproduced boots out there (there was a limited run on the TDH about 3 years ago). Here are a couple of pics of the items that I will be utilizing to modify these boots. I will be intregating the Jango Fett shins to set up the the front detail. I will be using the spare clone calves and shins to get the proper shape set-up (I will be bondoing out the indent on the calves) I am going to keep the armor boot spats as they are.

Voltaire, you're one of my personal heros in this hobby. You have reference materials of yourself. But seriously, you do extremely good work, and your snow commander is one of the most creative endeavors I've seen out there. I'm pleased to have you here, if it wasn't made clear before. I look forward to seing what the new boots look like. What will you do with the old TS mukluks?

If I can't get a pair of these, I'll be sculpting these soles and casting up a rubber pair.... Ultimatley, these are the boots to get.

If I had those boots, I'd do a Jango. As it stands, I'm satisfied with my walmart boot modification for the GM. A little mud and Jedi blood and they will look perfect.

Thanks for the cool words there Captian! HA! Though these boots are being used as an upgrade to my non-canon snow commander, they will be as close to canon as possible, stand-alone. That has been the key with my custom snow commander costume, as far as maintaining some level of realism and believabilty. Okay, here are some current pics folks: This what I used to prep and paint the boots. First coat Second coat The shins painted, for effect. I will be adding plastic to these shins. I am using the ridge on the shins to incorporate detail. Front on view.

I imagine you're going to be walking around in these boots to test out the success of the paint job. Be sure to let me know how that worked out! I know you can paint leather, but I'm always afraid that it will end up cracking and chipping off.

Why not finish off the boots and use them with your Bacarra?

Well, I did a test with my snow commander costume and they just didnt look right. The soles of the GM seem much taller than these particular Jango boots as well, and I cant lose any height with this particular costume. I am going to have ESB straps put on the Mukklukks and maybe use the Jango boot spats.
I am mulling over the possibilty of doing some type of custom snow Mando, though not sure yet. I have an all white Boba Fett jump suit, custom made to fit 2 years ago, sitting in my closet ready to go as well.
