OK, I have had this idea for awhile (I also didn't know which topic would be more appropriate) and after I finish (at least to 95%) my regular GM, I am going to start on a combination GM and ARC. Basically, it will be standard GM parts (chest, back, arms, shins, knees, and boots) in ARC lieutenant blue. I will make the ARC pauldron from the clone wars cartoon (the symmetric round one).
I am not sure about the helmet though. I was thinking that an RC bucket in marine dark grey and ARC blue would look killer, but for ARC, maybe an EP II standard bucket with ARC rangefinder.
Any thoughts/comments?

if you want it to look like an ARC you'd definitely have to use en epII helmet. Otherwise there wouldn't be any ARC parts except for the pauldron. Anyway, we all know the epII lid is the coolest helmet out there

That's the thing though. I don't want it to look like an ARC, otherwise I would just build an ARC (I might do that anyways), but I want it to look like a combination of ARC and GM. That's why I was thinking RC helmet, because if I use an EP II, it will be MORE ARC than GM, and if I just paint a GM blue, it will be MORE GM than ARC. If I used the RC, it would be neutral for the helmet. I do agree about the EP II being the coolest bucket out there though.

A lot of people think the ep II is coolest.
Never really thought about it....dunno.
Anyway, Commanders seem to mix and match helmets and armor pretty much higgledy piggledy, and ARCS surely have an equal level of freedom, so I think you can go where your heart desires. However, there does seem to be an unwritten law about ARCs having the ep II helmet with a rangefinder.
Is this going to be a sort of 'Force Recon' Arc? If so, you might want to consider going with a slight ARC overbalance in the pieces, but with GM coloring.
Just my 2c. Remember, the best thing to do with advice is ignore it.

Ha! Best advice I heard! Lol! Check this pic I took over a year an half ago, concept study.

I always wondered what ARCs did after everyone else in the GAR upgraded their helmets. Is that BlasTech or SoroSuub double-sided tape?

I'm not sure I know what you mean by saying 'Force Recon' precentor. I am going to go the opposite way with that, it will be GM heavy parts, with ARC specialty parts/weapons and ARC colors. See that was my original thought: BLUE GM. But I felt that it needed a gimmick, not just a different color. And I have always wanted to do an ARC, so voila. I was thinking I might even use ARC forearm armor pieces (with the commpad strapped on). I am still working out the details, but I am to the point in my head now, that I am pretty sure that I AM going to do it. It will be my second project after my standard GM right now.

Ah, if you want a blue GM then what you're saying is the way I would go. A GM/ARC hybrid is what I was going for and if you really wanted it to be seen by anybody as an ARC then an epII helmet is a must. I like the idea of a GM with an ARC helmet (I guess that would be like Capt Ferin) but this concept is intriguing as well. I'm interested to see how it shapes up

An EP II bucket in ARC colors on GM armor WOULD be sweet, and I haven't finalized any of my ideas yet (kind of depends on how well my regular GM goes together), but how cool would a GM bucket be in blue (all except the cowl) WITH a rangefinder on the right (wearer's right) side? Imagine that.

hm, I don't know about the rangefinder, it seems like it would be out of place since the helmet is otherwise free of any adornments. But hey, your custom, your decision

If you can look at Jango's and Boba's buckets they are kind of smooth like the GM except for the sides. What if you added the side pieces from Boba's bucket with the range finder? I think it would not only look killer but having both sides would even it out.
I'm in agreement that the Ep2 bucket is the coolest one out there. Just think how many troopers are going to be trying to get an Ep2 done in time for 08.08.08 Clone Wars animated premire!? I'm glad I did my Ep2 first.

that's if anyone can find an epII helmet...
Fett helmets actually have a lot of contours on them. There are the obvious ear pieces, the back vents, visor area, cheek area, and the ridge that goes all around the back. GM helmet has a vent and that's it (I'm not including the face because it's essentially a soft part). My point is that the GM is basically all unbroken curves and sticking something angular in there wouldn't work for me from an artistic standpoint. It might look good, but I don't personally like the image that I have in my head of it

Yeah I see what you guys are saying. Well, like I said, I am not totally set in stone about this yet. It's still in the ideas page. And by the way, I actually have an EP II made by JM. It's not even close to being done and needs a lot of work, but I love it. The thing is, I will be using it for sure for my regular TC (plain white EP II). So, if I decide to use an EP II bucket for my custom GM/ARC I will have to find another one... Come on big money...big money...C6....Big money...

REALLY???!!! By whom? I would love to see an OSCS EP II personally, but I know that they have so many projects (not to mention making the ones already perfected and selling them).
