I didn't see this discussed anywhere. Is the backplate presumed to be the same one as the regular clone troops, with the backpack over it?

It is. There are pretty much no screen shots of the backplate, but it IS a normal clone backplate. That's what I am doing, making the backpack sit on the backplate.

You don't build a costume based on an action figure. There is much about the GM figure that is flat out wrong anyways.
The TC backplate doesn't jut out like your making it out to be. It's actually quite a form-fitting piece. Plus your backpack will sort of be covering up much of the actual back "box" area from all sides, so it'll even make it slimmer.

Mr Laws, the guy who makes the chest plate, is in the process of making a back plate too. Dont quite know how accurate it is, but I've been told his chest pieces are some of the best.

I have pictures of his backplate, let me tell you something: It is DA bomb! Friggin' amazing looking. Let me say this, if mrlaws, decided to make the ENTIRE standard (TC) clone kit, he would have THE BEST looking (and available) kit out there. I let him borrow a backplate for reference so he could mold his so I know exactly where it is coming from. It looks AWESOME! I am getting one of his backplates.

I don't actually know what you are saying. Are you asking price or when he is going to have them done? Because I am just a friend of his, I don't do any sales for him. I wouldn't know. You should ask him yourself.

Yeah he's been telling me "just another week or two" for like two months. but considering the recent pics I have seen, I believe before the end of September for sure. But again, I am just a friend of his, I don't know for sure.

i cant see something that can say that the back plate is really as the clonetrooper standard. almost the back pack rests some space to the back.
