I could be wrong and I might have missed a similiar thread on ct.net or here, but I was just looking at the screen shots (from ROTS reference at www.jediokc.com/clone%20website/main.htm) and the unpainted white ILM Gm on ct.net, but if you look REALLY closely on some of the shots where the "camera" is fairly close to the trooper, it almost looks like a cod piece...Maybe not on top of the undersuit (grey suit) but maybe underneath...I don't want to sound gay or anything (not that there's anything wrong with that) but ALL of their crotch areas look the same: an odd shaped bulge almost like a sports cup or something like it...

I've seen that....there appears to be some rigid form underneath the BDU pants.
Why were you looking at the character's crotch again? I missed that part =)

I've seen it too, and to me, it doesn't look like it's shaped like the normal clone codpiece. It looks like it lays closer to the body, so IF we use a clone codpiece, we'd have to take out that bevel on the sides. Then, it looks like there is a raised section in the center of it, maybe 1/4" thick, that is like a 2" x 6" rectangle shape or something along those lines.
Or it could just be a cup of some kind like shadoweclipse said. Not a normal cup, obviously, but either way, I see a raised rectangle tab down the front of the groin.
Boy that sounded bad.

mmmh watching the movie i don't see it. Maybe in the sith snapshot it is clearer because it is a static model. It's kind of hard for me to explain this in english and trying to avoid words like "soft" "hard" "between the legs" etc. ih ihih

Oh, no. That's a perfectly fine description. I myself don't remember noticing it in the movie (I'll go back and watch it this evening), you might see it when they raise their rifles, but other than that, the only place I remember seing it is on the Sith Snapshot.

Looking at it again, you know what it kind of reminds me of? Fem-trooper (fem STORM) cod piece...Not square-ish like the standard clone, but the long one...

You know, it could be something like that. But let's remember that there is no two Femme Troopers are really consistant with each other since its a fan creation. So perhaps we should start defining an actual shape.

Very nice to have you on board Thera. Try introducing yourself in the introduction thread in the general discussion area so it is easier to find your introduction.
Thanks, Preston

i also noticed what your talking bout shadow i was thinking along the lines of making a foam insert of some sorts for the fron of the undersuit to make this maybe use a 1/4"-1/2" foam or like i mentioned in another thread use a foot ball tailbone pad trimed to shape

Yeah. I like that idea as long as it is comfortable, but I still want to see pics of what you are talking about. I was never involved in sports, so to me, most pads are just foam...

I am a football coach and there are a few different tail pads depending on the maker and price. Some are just high density foam. Others have a hard piece inside the foam. There are also different sizes and shapes. But basically what you have is a long thin pad about 3 inches wide and 8 inches long. Smaller or bigger depending on the size of the person it is intended for.
