Allright I have more updates and pics on my armor. I went outside and did a photoshoot. I have the full arm assemblies and I have the knees. I am about 3 weeks away from finishing. I am expecting a check coming in which should pay for me to get a MRLAWS chest plate an dthen I will just have to make myself a backplate and shins then some boots and then make my helmet. and then I am DONE!!!! Well As you can tell I am really close I do not have my mantle on in the pics because it is going through the take it apart an dmake a better one stage. Right now I am in the process of making a gray wool an dblack vinyl version of my mantle. But let me tell you I HATE SEWING VINYL!! It really sucks the stuff I am using keeps stretching out or scrunching up in the sewing machine. Well anyways here are the pics I promised. Private Skye in all his glory jk lol. Well please leave comments/criticisms.

The trick to sewing vinyl is that you don't let the machine pull it through for you - do it yourself. Of course, that isn't to say "don't lower the foot pad" - DO lower it, but don't let those little teeth pull the vinyl through. Grab hold of it on either side of the foot (front and back), and manually pull it through, keep it tight.
Get a chest boy!
My one crit so far is the bicep piece. It looks awefully box-shaped, when it should be rounded around your arm. Consider swapping out with some MG piece or something.
That right shoulder bell looks great though! I wouldn't mind having one of those for myself!

I sewed my vinyl with a simple thread and needle for my mantle. It takes longer but it's actually kind of fun. Just be sure you don't use really thin thread or a weak needle. Pics look great

Thanks for the kind words. As far as the biceps go Its true they are really boxed shaped and I am even modding my molds as we speak so when I get tired of using these biceps I will most likely switch them out for my new ones. I was following a pic of som poorly made ones but I thought they were nice. I am now using a screen shot of a EP 2 Clone for the reference on my biceps.
Thanks for the tips on sewing vinyl captain. I will certainly use these today.
LOL Captain!!! I do need to get a chest I am actually working out this summer so hopefully I will get some pex. The problem is I come from a family that is REALLY skinny my dad only weighs 125 so that shoudl give you an idea. but the point is I have tried diets to make myself fatter but none of them have worked so now I have decided the only way is to work out and get some pex.
Also Captain when are you gonna send that shoulder bell mould down to me so I can make you a right shoulder bell? We haven't talked about it for awhileso I was just checking with you to see what you were still planning.
Well thanks for the kind words/critisicms I will get to work to make my costume better.

Man Youngling that armor is nice looking. You do need a chest though. Bad.
You know that I am very interested in one of your right shoulder bells, which look VERY good by the way. I love the ridges. I was wondering though, how tall are you? Because the right shoulder bell looks good but if you are 6 feet tall, it wouldn't look good (without some trimming) on me at 5'4".

I am 5'8" The great thing about the shoulder bells is the fact that I do not have the ridges vac formed in you do not have to worry about trimming you just have to cut off the extra and them put the ridges on. BTW The ridges have not cracked at all I think they will last forever as far as costumes go.
I'm sorry about the chest I'm hoping that the chest plate from MRLAWS will make all the difference. Well once agian thanks for the comments.

Don't worry about not having the chest plate yet, I was just saying that it would really look nice to see your armor with something on the chest. By the way, is that a custom/homemade undersuit?

When you mail the shoulders out will you leave the lip on them and then have the customer trim down from there or do you trim the lip off of it before sending.
kinda off topic, sorry

Thanks for the kind words again! Yes Jason I had to sew that Undersuit myself It turned out pretty good there is a seam or 2 that could use some owrk but over it is great it shoulder fit me all the way out of highschool too.
Apollo I have been trimming the lip off befoer I sent them out but I would be willing to leave yours on the only prob I have is sometimes there is webbing right on the edge and that makes It so I can't leave the lip but I will see what I can do.
Hey Mandoman Lets see some pics of your suit. Can't wait to see what other people are doing besides the Captain, Jason and me.

Haha, well, if I were to show my progress, it would consist of me holding a chestplate up to myself, and that's it. Yeah, I need to get my butt in gear!

Haha that's part of wearing armor mate, mobility is for those rebels who don't put any on. That is all looking very very nice and I'm glad to hear you're modifying the biceps, they were looking a bit too boxy. It's also nice to see that rifle coming together. It looks like you've just got to add the stock and do a little more work on the middle section and it will be awesome.

Thanks for the comments as of now the rifle is actually done I just ahven't put any pics up because it is almost done I just need to add the stock and I don't want to show you until the stock is on so you just wait for that. Also are you sure there is no way to make it better?
