Where do you guys put them?
The movie refs don't seem to have any, but GM action figure seems to have three pieces. There's a sort of hourglass shaped piece hanging down the front, a purple piece hanging down under the helmet, and then another white piece covering the back of the neck. I'm looking at the Windu version, but I assume it's the same mold as the usual figure.
Are there seams in the movie refs I'm missing?

I'm positive that it IS the same mold for the windu and the regular.

the seams on the action figure aren't very accurate in my opinion. From the various screen shots, it appears that there are no seams on the cg model. I'm just going to have 2 seams at about where my ears are. That will be where the front and back part of my veil meet

The seam can be seen on the Sith Snapshot #2, which is an unskinned, untextured, unbumped GM 3d model used by ILM. They are very, very faint, and please understand you are not looking at clear images on screenshots. You have to account for for atmospheric lighting within the scene, not to mention the sheer amount of crap in the air, and the weathering on the uniforms.... the screenshots will not show MOST details.
I personally did not put them on my helmet, since I built my helmet long before SS#2 became available. I want to build an entirely new helmet to make it more accurate, though, and the seams will be accounted for.
By the way, on the normal GM paint scheme, the cheeks are light tan. They are darker on the figure, but if you check out Sith Snapshot #1, you can see that they are indeed tan, but very light at that. They also don't seem to have any weathering on them either! That is really weird!

Wow, why so it is. Do you think the tan cheek piece is fabric covered, or is it a hard piece? On the Windu version, it's purple, and wraps around above the veil, but under the cowl of the helmet. Would that be a solid piece all the way around, or a fabric piece, adhered at the front and wrapping around the back of the neck like the obviously fabric white part?

I can't believe that I didn't notice that before. That might be kind of a pain in the a** considering that the cowl is vinyl.

I thought he was referring to a place where the two pieces of vinyl would meet up. I've seen that seam/neck piece thing, and I'm definitely not going to incorporate it into my helmet, at least not on version 1. any rig you could set up would hinder movement and the loss in detail would be fairly negligible since you can't even see that part on screen.

haha, I'm having a hard time describing what I think we're talking about. I think it's where the veil appears to dip back in towards the neck a few inches below the bottom of the shroud on the all white sith snapshot. I'm saying that this would be nice to add for accuracy, but wouldn't be fun to troop in, and it's a tradeoff I'd make because this detail can't even be seen at all in the movie. At least, I thought that was what we were talking about. After re-reading the thread it seems I was wrong. Sorry about that.
I am going to add the hard cheek pieces, probably painted the same white as the rest of my white pieces and maybe tinted yellow very very lightly.
