I know that it was NOT in the movie, so I am really not technically worried about the canonicity, but it was shown in the ROTS game: When Yoda and Obi-Wan go back to the Jedi Temple towards the end of the movie, the scene cuts to where they are already fighting...Well, in the game and I am pretty sure also in the book, the scene started with Yoda and Obi-Wan APPROACHING the clones (who wear Jedi robes as a disguise)...Has anybody ever seen someone at a convention wear a Jedi robe OVER their armor? (YES, I realize that this MAY not be practical because of the weight, but I think it would look cool...)

I've never seen this before, but I recall hearing something along those lines. While the potential issues of 501st canonicity could easily be dodged by just not wearing such a robe for your member photos, I don't see this being an issue at a convention. In fact, conventions are where all the 501st guys bring out their "other" costumes anyways. So have at it.
Of course, if you want to make it as official as the 501st would let you, you'd need to do it in 501st Spec Ops armor.

There are some Rebel Legion members who replicate Obi-Wan's costume from the Clone wars cartoons, which is his robe tucked in and around a set of clone armor.
Also depending on the look you want, you could replicate the clones wearing the rain ponchos, also in the cartoon.

That would becool looking. I can see a few of us show up at the Rebel Legion photo op sneaking up on them under the robes, and then: POW POW POW! we pop out of the robes blasting away! muuhhhaaaa!!

Yeah, but to do so, you'd have to trick them. They're Jedi after all. So I would recommend "Essence of Force" by Calvin Klein.

I agree with pghfett, that WOULD be SWEET! All of us (6/7 guys) in GM armor with Jedi robes sneaking up on them...That would be a REALLY cool pic...Someone with their mad photoshop skills could turn that into a really sweet 53rd "propaganda" poster...

That's cool...I'm not personally putting Jedi down, just playing out my marine "character"...I know that I will get crap for this, but if I could sew I would have a Jedi costume as well...By the way, nice color choices on your Jedi costume...
