Hi everyone, I just received my crowe GM boots the other day after a 11 month wait. Just a query, the soles are a grey colour, i was reading thru the CRL, it doesnt specify that it requires to be a certain colour but from the blu-ray they are tan coloured. I remember Gio saying he was going to make them tan but why he didnt i dont know, just glad to get them after so long. So question, do you think the grey sole will hold up approval? Im going to run it past my GML but wanted your opinions, i just dont want to have to constantly paint them. If i have to, can anyone recommend what type of paint to use. Im thinking i might just weather the bageezus out of them to get around that Hope everyone is going well since C6 Cheers Doc

Hey Doc, I color for the soles is tan, but I am not sure if they would gig you that hard for approval, but seeing what a few others have gone thru lately they just might.

Thanks mate, no dramas, itll give me time to tinker with the rest so it all fits lol. If the attachment works here is a pic, the quality is very good IMO and very comfy, yeah just the grey soles. I put a post on crowes facebook page as to why he went with the grey but no reply as yet as im sure he listed that he was going to do white/tan when it was in conception stage. Just needed some snaps to attach at the sides for the toe armour and they hold it to the boot nicely. Attachments:

If you're worried about it maybe just hit 'em quick with a shot of tan to color them up. The paint will scratch away revealing the gray making from some great weathering IMO

Mix tan oil based paint with rubber cement and then paint it on, I would only do the parts that are seen, the rubber cement will help keep the paint last, that's what I did and have only had to touch them up once so far.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, will do, that was my thinking as well, to incorporate the grey into the weathering. My GML is on it but yeah i want them to look a bit like the screen shots. Im getting pics of the whole thing - less the toe armour grebs lol - on the weekend so hopefully itll look good.
