Hi there.
I'm in the process of shaping a mold for the chest plate but after some research I still can't determine an accurate or near accurate size for the central part of the chest plate, the one that has the controls in the bottom and a rounded top.
I would like to know if possible the approximate measures, basically the height and width. I'm considering a diameter of the half circle at the top to be about 5 inches, maybe a little less, like a regular CD/DVD. Do you think this is correct? (always considering a normal/average sized chest plate and user).
Thank you very much.

I post a picture to illustrate the aproximate measurements I'm looking for for a "normal" sized chest plate and user. Being: A: total height of the central part B: width C: Height from the bottom of the plate to the begining of the central part D: Height of the half circle at the top of the central part Thank you very much.

Give me some time, maybe until the weekend, and I'll measure my chest and backplate for you. It'll be a little hard during the week since I have 2 jobs, and I'm hardly home.
It's a bit hard to say what the accurate sizes are. remember...this has to conform to your body size. My chest/back plates have some MODs and shims to them to fit me from their original size. One Prop maker may make them different than another prop maker.
