I understand that a close-to-accurate upper is vital for a GM boot but I was impressed when I saw the soles on these at a shoppe today. They are Nine West ladies' loafers. I just thought I would post this for anyone who likes them enough to replace the upper or for those of you covering the upper in vinyl. Cheers.

How does the bottom look? The side looks pretty good, considering it's very difficult to find a good sole. Good find, by the way.

The sole looks pretty good. I think the heel is a bit too high. Might make you look like a cross-dressing Marine. The upper can always be manipulated and most of it gets covered by the toe armor anyway.

I think it might work well for our female GMs, but not everyone else.

I think it might work well for our female GMs, but not everyone else. Well, that's an interesting issue. Those shoes would add height (+) but are rather feminine (-). Personally I hope to appear "male" when trooping because the Marines were all little Jangos. Maybe I'll go with boys' Sketchers. I still haven't found the right boots for me, either way.
