I found some material I want to use for my suit so I'm off to find it now. I took a small piece from a pair of "Adirondack trading company" pants I have, they're 100% cotton and look like a tight woven thick duck cloth looking kinda thing. The back side resemble sports mesh clothing, and the top kinda resembles corduroy, but with a duck cloth twist if that makes any sense. I'm going hunting for the cloth at Joanne fabrics so if I find what I want I'll post up what I found so others if they want can get similar stuff. I'm also making my own pattern since I don't want the dreaded droopy crotch syndrome that is very common in flight suits or coveralls. So I'll also post that up for others to judge and or use as well. ;D

Very Cool. I for one would be interested if you find what your looking for. I am in the process of getting material to start my undersuit as well.

OK, I found the closest thing I could to the cloth sample I had. It was a type of all cotton duck cloth and I found it in the clearance bin so all I can really do is post a picture up and let you see it up close. It's kinda stiff, but I think after I get the whole thing sewn up, it'll go through the wash and soften up a bit. After this most of my progress pics will be just links so it doesn't take up to much bandwidth and as I get to any apex's in the build process, I'll add the pics to the post.

hate to double post but I got some stuff done tonight. I still have to work on getting the pocket flap on, some sort of waist line, get my zipper on the top and a handfull of other things. I'm thinking I have the pockets a little to far on the inside but that could be just because I don't have the rest stitched together yet? If they are I might just cut the legs off and restitch them on with the pockets centered up on my quads. After wearing this around, I would assume the material to be very rugged and should take some weathering very nicely when the time comes for that.

I'm really diggin' the texture, and your progress is "most impressive". Your trousers will look very cool once weathered.

almost done, just gotta add the velcro to the pocket tabs and give it a test fit. As you can see, much like the CGI version, there are very few seams, I can only think of four that will show when the hard goods are worn. I also don't think the waist seams will be seen when the belt and other stuff is on, I could be wrong, and I also had no clue to where the chest plate would end so I kept the zipper up a little. A small side note, I might have to shift a few pounds Those trousers are looking pretty good. Don't worry about that shifting weight issue, it happens to all of us.
