I just realized that other day that I have these great (not perfect, but I like the way they look) pants that I am going to use for the pants part of my GM undersuit...They used to be my work pants when I worked at Jewel awhile ago (two months ago)...They are a little bit darker in person, already have the front pockets and (BONUS!) from 4-1/2 years at Jewel, already weathered! I am going to cut off a few of the other pockets and extra pieces(straps on calves) so it looks a little cleaner for the GM...I would love to have a one piece undersuit, but this will have to do for now... Comments?

Well, the pockets on the GM suit are on the fronts of the thighs, not the sides. Plus they're smaller, it seems. So you'll have to relocate them. In addition to that, you'll have to remove those side pockets (it looks like they're just sewn onto the pants, so they can be removed). It also looks like there are pockets down by your knees that will need to be removed as well.
I think these are very workable. It's just a lot of removing pockets, and then relocating the thigh pockets from the side to the front. But these can be made into a decent start, definitely.
Also, you'll want to lighten these up with a little bleach (if they will take bleach). Just a LITTLE bleach, since a little goes a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG way. The GM gray is pretty light.

cool...glad you think that they are a nice start...I found them laying on the floor (unwashed) and been sitting there since I quit Jewel (mid november)...I did say (I think I said) that I would be removing most of the other pockets...The only ones I think I MAY keep are the ones on way sides (regular denim pants pockets area) just incase to put stuff there...I am not sure if I am actually going to move the main two front pockets or not...I know what you are saying, but my grandmother (who does my seamstressing for me) will be out of town until april and I don't know much about sewing...So, at least for now, I will leave them there...I'm not sure I will EVER move them, but we'll see when the time comes...

Well a costume is always a Work in Progress, so you can always move them WAY later if you wanted.

true...It's not like anything is EVER final...you know? And who knows, maybe I will troop in them a few times and see pics of me in the GM and go "that looks like crap" and change them, or just change my mind on my own...

You know, I think I am just going to take a pair of grey BDU's and move the pockets to the front... add the bib above the waist...
BDU's have the nice addition of having the ties at the foot so they will slip into your boots, and they can adjust on the sides so you won't need a belt.
Check out soldiercity.com. Same grey for my Resident Evil shirt and it's pretty close.
