hey y'all! I am LordOfSpades 93, also known as Eli Cornell, I am not a part of the 501st, unfortunately, so that may be an issue, I've been an armor builder for 2 years, and I've discovered a new, and more detailed, way of building Star Wars armor in general. Welcome aboard to the Mighty 53rd! Don't worry about not being in the 501st, there are a few Marines here that are not. Please feel free to share your knowledge in armor building, many of us are here to learn.

Hello. My name is Lillian. I live in Chicago but plan to move to Portland (OR) in 2010. I've recently begun scratch-building my GM gear and will post photos as my work progresses. This site is a wealth of information and I thank you all for that and for the tone of the 53rd forums, which encouraged me to join. Cheers.

Hi Lilian. Welcome to the 53rd.
I have an Aunt that lives in Skoakie so that's not too far Chicago. Looking forward to seeing your WIP and to meeting you in the Forums (and possibly at a CON). Lots of great Marines here that are willing to help. Most of us are learing from each other and the GM is the first Build for a lot of here. Hope to help out as much as we can.

BTW, I drove through Skokie today, to and from our annual Chicago Force holiday/"Life Day" party. This will be my first time working with armour but I've posted my Chewie costume in the Other Costumes thread and I've done Agent Irina Spalko for the Indiana Jones 4 premiere and just finished (for Hallowe'en) a Carol costume from Where the Wild Things Are. I have some experience and hope to contribute to the 53rd as I learn what works and doesn't for my GM.

Oh cool. How is Skokie these days? I havn't talk to my aunt in a few months. I look forward to seeing your Chewie after this post. Once again, we look foreward to seeing you around on the boards and hope to help as much as possible, as well as learn a thing or two from you as I know some of your costume knowledge will also help out with the Marines here.

Hi I'm Simon. I'm from New Zealand. I'm new to costuming/Armour making. I turn 18 soon, and I'm hoping to start this as a hobby by making my own GM armour set.

Hello Simon.
Welcome to the 53rd FAC. You've come to the right place for the Galactic Marines. Feel free to read many of the posts here for info on the Armor and to get to know the Marines here. Feel free to send PM or post if you have any questions. Lots of good resources here.
Oh and Happy Birthday once you turn 18.

Hi my name is Ken Querio. My 501st Legion ID # is TK / CT - 7462. I reside in Krumsville, PA (which is just outside of Kutztown, PA ---> 1/2 way point between Allentown & Reading, PA), and I am an active member of Garrison Carida and just joined the 501st Clonetrooper Detachment. I attended the Garrison Carida Imperial Academy where I built a Shocktrooper as my first costume and first exposure to costuming (crazy I know). I have been an official member of the 501st since November, however, I have been heavily trooping with Carida since last July (as a squire/ handler). I also have a TK costume, built my 6 year old daughter a very accurate Jawa (DZ), and current project is a snowtrooper (TS) for my wife. Hopefully in the very near future, we will be trooping as an entire family. There is a very special place in my heart for the original trilogy, however, I truly loved Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. I really like the Phase II armor (transition between clone and stormtrooper) and initially the Shocktrooper jumped out at me. But I do remember seeing the Galactic Marines on Mygeeto during Order 66, but never appreciated them until I picked up the action figure (30th anniversary w/coin) and looked at the official picture on the card. I thought they looked awesome. I am currently in the research stage of this next project (gotta get the wife's snowie done first), but as I did with my Shocktrooper, I am putting together a folder complete with pics, information, armor/prop dealers & manufacturers, tutorials, etc. and getting pricing and availability. I must say, your website is truly AMAZING!!! Very well designed, A LOT of information, and seems like everyone works together for the betterment of the Grand Army of the Republic and making great Galactic Marine costumes. Look forward to meeting you all on the forums and starting this build. It appears that I may have missed the 53rd FAC patch run that was last year, but hopefully I may find someone who may have a spare. If I may help out in anyway, please don't hesitate to contact me. Ken "Tank" Querio TK / CT - 7462 Garrison Carida

Hey "Tank", welcome aboard to the 53rd FAC. Sorry for the late reply I was really busy with midterms last week, and was out of town over the weekend. Your costuming expereinces and your family's sound pretty cool.
I too am looking foreward to seeing you around on the message boards and reading your posts. We all learn from each other, so I'm sure many Marines here will also benefit for your costume/armor knowledge and Vice Versa. I'm not sure when we will have another patch run but when that time comes I'm sure that you will know.

Hi all. I know alot of you from other boards. My name is "Elly" (pronounced eli) from many of the 501st/Prop Forums. I'm in New England and have quite a few costumes approved, and many more in the works. Just lurking as I may be getting some of these parts pretty soon.
It seems alot of the original starters of this board are gone. I know about Phfett. Not sure if admin/Captain Ferin still comes here. I see him rarely on another board that I'm on. Seems like it's just you RamZnation.

Hi Elly, welcome to 53rd. Feel free to look around and post. We might be able to learn a thing or two from your approved costumes as we learn from each other there. Looking forward to seeing your build when you do begin.
A lot of the original members have moved on to other projects, though a few pop around from time to time. Not sure I can consider myself one of the few original members since I've been here since late 2007 and registered early in 2008 but I try to do my best to keep the site running and helping newer Galactic Marines.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Well, I'm kind of cheating on the build since I bought most of it from someone else. I'm working on the gray/black innersuit and boots now. It doesn't look too bad, so I might be up and running by this weekend. My armor comes in on Wednesday! I'll post when I try it on and get it up and running.
