Polls are usually a good way of getting a feel for the situation. Sometimes people don't have anything verbally to add but certainly have an opinion one way or the other.

Sorry for the late reply been swamped with life and work....
I want to go back and say that I am in full agreement with Heatshock on the move, given what happened to the BARCs and Pathfinders I don't think this is necessarily a good thing.
While this situation can be guaranteed all it wants, like with the pathfinders if there is a change in command at some point in the future (of BF) that will be all it takes to make an identical situation for the GM. I said this in PM's, emails, personal discussions and now here. I don't think this is a good move for the GMs mostly due to what has been seen previously and will only lead to the splintering of the group here.

I heard it too, LMO decision has come down despite the discussion here and the poll (albeit with only seven people voting)

Hello everyone of the 53rd FAC.
I wanted to speak directly with you all on this matter as it does related to those of you who are currently 501st members or prospective members to the legion through the construction and development of the Galactic Marine costume.
First and foremost, we are NOT trying to reduce or eliminate the 53rd FAC. I want to be clear on this.
As for the decision to make the move. This case was brought up between myself and Ken. It was not meant to be a power grab or we feel greedy or the like. It was addressed that currently, under the Clonetrooper Detachment, that the GM community and costume as a whole is not receiving the proper attention and the quality promotion you need to further develop and grow. The fact that the 53rd FAC site exists shows that there is a community with more passion and love for the costume beyond what the CTN is giving them.
As Ken addressed it, along with a valid case to back up the logic and reasoning behind the move of the GM to the Blizzard Force, it seemed only logical. In addition, we feel that this would be a mutually beneficial action; your costume would have an official home in the Legion that will provide much more visibility as well as an official location to properly "flesh out" amongst other 501st members.
A concern for whether or not the GM will be treated with as much respect or passion; As long as I remain the DL for the Blizzard Force detachment and for as long as we are delegated the responsibility of this costume within the realms of the 501st legion, the Galactic Marine will be treated with the same level of respect and care as the rest of the costumes under our command. It is not my intention to throw this costume to the sidelines "just to have."
Those of you who have remained a part of the Legion for awhile know that the Blizzard Force has had a long period of extremely "limited" activity. I absolutely hated it. I never have had so much passion for something like this in along time...the snowtrooper and the Blizzard Force is something that I am very proud to be a part of. That is why I decided to run and was fortunate enough to have been elected for. I take running this detachment with the utmost sincerity and professionalism as I can personally muster. While I cannot vouch for my predecessors or my successors in the future, I can personally assure you that I will do everything in my power to grow and further develop the Blizzard Force into a stronger and larger community then it has been.
I have been very fortunate as well to have a passionate and highly motivated Executive Officer. Ken has done so much work for our detachment that I can't possibly thank him enough for, and this is just our 2nd month in command. He shares the same passion for the GM as he does for the Snowtrooper. I have no doubt this will be carried over to the BF. Since taking command of the Blizzard Force, we have overhauled much of our forums, dropped dead weight, implemented a new trooping incentive program and have seen an overall increase in member activity, enrollment as well as the return of older members that we have not seen around in a very long time. These things take time but we are already seeing positive results from our actions.
As for our stance with the 53rd FAC site. It is not our goal, let alone a priority of ours to remove this site or diminish it's purpose. This site was designed for those who are passionate about GMs to discuss, build and interact. Just as TheDentedHelmet.com is for Fett costumers or TheRPF.com is for anything and everything. While the 53rd FAC is not a recognized section of the 501st Legion, it is without a doubt a valuable asset to those in pursuit of this costume.
I do apologize to those who disagree with this decision. A transition such as this is understandably worrisome and will no doubt cause frustration and concern. As for the concern over what happened with the BARCs, I cannot make any comment as I am not familiar with what exactly happened with that situation.
I welcome every one of you to the Blizzard Force with open arms and encourage you to become an active participant within our group. Official 501st members that currently hold the GM designation are now entitled to everything Blizzard Force.
Again, this will not be an easy transition, but I personally feel that this will be a mutually beneficial and positive one for all parties involved.
Thank you for your time,
-"Tuba" Chris Williams TS-2556 Blizzard Force Detachment Leader 2013

I want to thank Ken and everyone at the 53rd who allowed me to be a part of this discussion. In the end, the stronger argument won.
I want every GM to know that you all will remain welcome over at CTN. In my eyes, you are all still clones and will remain a part of the CTN family.

Again, this will not be an easy transition, but I personally feel that this will be a mutually beneficial and positive one for all parties involved. Thank you for your time, -"Tuba" Chris Williams TS-2556 Blizzard Force Detachment Leader 2013 I would like to extend a special thank you to Chris Williams, Blizzard Force Detachment Leader, for stopping in and posting up. Now I would like to chime in and offer my thoughts and opinions on the matter. The Blizzard Force approached Ken "Muppet" Seymour, the 501st Legion Legion Membership Officer, and asked about bringing the Galactic Marines from CTN over to Blizzard Force. Most of you may not realize, but this is not the first time this discussion (moving the GM's to Blizzard Force) was brought up. This was briefly discussed last year, and the year prior, however, no one pursued a solid case for the move until this year. The main factors in the case included the movie canon scenes in which the GM's were seen and the similarities to the physical costume. A private discussion between CTN detachment leader and myself was opened with Ken Seymour overseeing it. This discussion got quite heated at times. At that time, the LMO and his team reviewed and debated the case and looked at the facts at hand. This has been going on for some time, even before the poll here was posted up. The decision was made by the LMO and his staff. For those who do not know, I am also the current executive officer for Blizzard Force detachment of the 501st Legion. Chris Williams was elected to the DL position, and he offered me the position of the DXO in which I accepted. Most of you know me from here on the boards, and simply look at my track record of all the hard work that I have put into the growth, promotion, and advancement of this costume and character. By no means would I jeopardize or throw away all that hard work, nor would I steer the Galactic Marines (in the 501st Legion) in the wrong direction. Chris Williams and I have been working diligently to re-energize Blizzard Force, increase the awareness of all its costumes, and bring more activity to the detachment. I have built both costumes, and I am one (1) of three (3) members in the Legion to have the "duo". We will promote the Galactic Marine, as we have been doing with all out costumes (including the Wampa). To put it simply, keeping the GM in the CTN would do nothing but hold back this costume. As I have a vested interest in the GM, and I am constructing the Cold Assault Trooper (elusive white GM), I am not going anywhere and will ensure the "safety" of the GM in the future (at Blizzard Force). In addition, the Galactic Marine will be added to the Blizzard Force site, within the category of our other troopers, in the armory with the Snowtroopers and Commanders. They WILL NOT be put in a subgroup as in the case of the Kashyyyk Troopers with the Pathfinders. We WILL NOT allow a repeat situation occur as with what happened with the Kashyyyk Troopers. I am FULLY aware of the situation with the Kashyyyk Troopers. The BIG difference with us, is we are not elitists. We strive for high accuracy, however, we treat everyone equal. We have discussed a 2nd tier but decided against it... BASED ON WHAT IS OCCURRING with the Pathfinders. just mention this because that is another argument that I am constantly hearing from members. It is not right to "black ball" the Blizzard Force right out of the gates based on the actions of another detachment. Bottoms line is CTN has done NOTHING this whole time to advance or promote the costume. That is a FACT. Sorry if this may upset some members but it is the truth. Dave Castenello, CTN Detachment Leader, has offered all vendors to continue posting up their products over at the CTN. In addition, all GM's are still welcome over at CTN. And yet another clarification, this move is within the 501st Legion, and will not effect the 53rd Fast Attack Company. The daily operations will continue as normal. Thank you for your time.
