looking gd IMO, but I have yet to get a cleared GM though Dan it might be the pics, but you look awful clean in specific spots - I presume its WIP? eg the chest greebs, the elbow straps and the helmet cowl. good going though mate, not long now? Nate

Thanks Nate, I'm still working on it, any suggestions for the chest greebs, the elbow straps and the helmet cowl, some parts it is seeming hard to keep the weathering and such on.

Dan,
I would have to agree with Nate. Your armor appears to be too clean an glossy / shiny. One method of weathering you can do, and this may be tough, "curb" or pavement weathering. Simply take your pieces of armor outside and scuff it on the pavement or curb. Then mix up a good batch of blackwash (black acrylic paint & water), then go over the scoffs and armor. This will make the scrapes look good. Also, the epaulets / pauldrons should also be weathered. One trick I used to simulate ash and snow was using Rustoleum Textured Stone paint - gray. Simply mist the "flecking" on top of the epaulets, then hit it with the flat clear coat. Remember, Mygeeto had snow and ash falling from the sky, and who knows what else could have been "raining down" on them (shrapnel, dirt, etc. from bombs, explosions, and such). Just a tip for other troopers. Another way you can go is too use the blackwash on the whole armor, then give all the pieces a coating of FLAT clear coat spray. This will seal the acrylic black wash and protect your armor. In addition, it will dull the finish of the armor giving it a good weathered look.

Dan, your work has been good and your representation of the GM needs just a few touches for better accuracy. I'm not "the guy" on GMs but as I have been doing my build I have things top of mind so here's my list of things that can/should be addressed.
-The first thing I noticed was the glossy look. A blackwash should matte it down making for a good look. Weathering does not show up well in pics but you are really clean. The tips from others will help. Stay away from the shots of black spray paint. You'll end up looking like a leopard. -colour mismatch between paint and kama. Weathering can balance that somewhat. -The belt is too low. It should be under the chest armour, not at your waist. -I don't see the extra detail on the left elbow. -Knee straps are not visible - are they different colours? -black undersuit is visible at the bottom of the chest armour - tighten that s&%t up soldier. -belt boxes are not symmetrical(equal space from the buckles) or straight. -The 360 turnaround does not show a black ammo belt, rather it is grey. -toe caps are missing the circles greeblies. Find some O rings at a hardware store and glue/paint 'em up. -helmet vent should be black. -Picky issue here - the seams are really rough (visible on the forearm)
It's hard writing these posts as I don't want to disparage your hard work. I want to offer constructive criticism that will make your GM screen accurate by suggesting areas of focus that are achievable by most builders. What you've done so far suggests the things on this list, if you care to do them, are within your abilities. Don't rush the build. You will always regret it each time you put it on an see an issue you know you could have done better if you took a few extra hours on. Lastly, make sure you are using the LFL images as ref pics, not another's build. Don't let someone else's mistakes or interpretations become your own. Having been through a few armour builds, I've found I've made all these mistakes and wished someone straightened me out earlier.
