the dark primer was on advise of the GMs before me in the UKG, the likes of boba and truro. I did try painting some on white plastic and it looked.... too red. Will post up an experiment to show it off hopefully. The effect is very subtle though trooperdyl - if you like, I can post off sample of my colour on (1) white plastic-primer-red and (2) white plastic-primer-black-red. Any good car shop should be able to mix up a match for yer? Kylar - AFAIK chrome is only seem on Kashyyyk troopers and Gree. Cloners then to get dirty and have blaster scorches, but no metal underneath. ALLEGEDLY clone armor is some sort of sci fi composite material which isnt metal and is white through and through. Hell who knows ;P Check with your GML though. Also all clone colours are dull. I would wet sand my satin finish a bit to dull it at the end. I used a flat black. Yeah - I tend to sand-primer-paint all my parts, resin or plastic. Godo luck, hope you like you lid ! Kylar - soz for derail; any more updates? Interested in the colour test and also how to attached that damned cowl, as not entirely happy with my cowl material still And how many GMs is Alabama Garrison getting??? Nate

Alright here is an update (Camera flash makes it look brighter than it actually is. We were in the dark): I like the color. It will also get darker as I add weathering to it. Also started making my clone armor seamless (the bondo drill).

Thanks man. I'm starting the weathering of the helmet now. And I should probably sand down the clone parts.... to get ready for paint.
Pics when I'm done weathering.

Looking good Most of my GM is white > black/grey > claret. Then I just sand and nic it to produce multi-layered damage. Phil

that is what I have been going for. I'm trying to get a pic where you can actually see all of the weathering. The camera flash just reflects too bad off the helmet. I'll see if I can't fix that.

Hey guys! Its been a while since I have posted any progress on this build. Never fear, I am still here and still building. Here is some of the progress that I have made: The Helmet is done: I have also put together and painted the arm pieces and my back plate. I have the leg armor and my left shoulder on order. All soft goods have been acquired, they just need to be put together. I'll post more pics as I take them. Let me know what you think.
