I've recently started working on my SGB GM Helmet. I've checked the 501st CRL and it states that the Helmet needs to have a trim around the brow and edge of it. This is my first ever build, so I'm not exactly sure how to go about adding a trim line to the Helmet. Looking for some suggestions, I guess. One thought I had was to hot glue a weed wacker line around and bondo over it. What do you think? or what else can you suggest? Attachments:

I'm in the same boat mate. The way I'm tackling it is to cut a thin strip of styrene and glue it along the edge with CA glue. Then bog (that's what we call bondo) over it to blend it in. Then sand, sand, sand. I would be hesitant to use hot glue as it breaks down over time. Also bog creates a bit of heat as it cures which can affect the finish.

I have not tried this yet, so I don't know if it works, but when I reach that point, I want to try with gray power cable, like the ones used for computer's power sources or other appliances. I plan to cut it longitudinally to the needed length, remove the three inner wires, and use heat to help bend in the most closed corners, because I believe there is a big chance it will be deformed or open too much if the corner is tight. It's another idea, but as I told you for not being able to try with it yet, unfortunately I don't know if it may work or if it's a silly idea. Good luck

I'm seeing a lot about those styrene strips in the posts. I've gotta get my hands on some. Will contemplate all these suggestions while I'm fishing this weekend. Will start a WIP of the helmet soon. Its the only piece I have as of now

I got a 2nd hand SGB and am ready to do the ridge on it. I looked all over for sytrene strips then remembered a local hobby store website and found they have lots of variety.
Hobby stores are they place to go for styrene strips.

I used car door trim from Auto Zone. It went on well after using a heat gun to help it make the bends. Only problem is painting it. I had to use Krylon Fusion to put down a base coat and then normal primer on top, then the standard GM red. Krylon Fusion is made to bond better with plastics and some hard rubbers.
