Well man, after seeing your pics I don't know if to proceed with the foam shaping or if go with your technique. If I'm able to make something like that with sintra, I would definitely try that way. Congrats for your results man. I hope we can handle sintra like that. I'd be more than happy to obtain with sintra what you did with cardboard.

Well how far are you on the foam? If you're pretty far I'd say try your way because I still need to figure out how I'm going to work the sintra on this. Might just cut it sort of like I did here and then glue it together. I'll try to draw you my design if you want.

If you look, I think I made the flat part in front a little too big. Actually I'm almost positive it's too big.

Well Duke, as I intended I have the results after the weekend and they are no good. I approached to a decent shape with the foam, at least to test if the sintra would bend reasonably but I couldn't achieve it. I may have tried a little harder but I don't think I could have done it anyway, at least not without doing cuts somewhere in the upper part of the chest. At first I thought the cut should have been in the center but now I believe they could be two cuts, one on each side, at 45ยบ from the top of the flat belly, but I'm not sure neither. So I will probably try with fiberglass now. I have to shape the foam to perfection then because fiberglass will copy the shape exactly without the chance of making corrections with heat like with sintra. I still don't get it how I could do it with sintra without using a mold, like Snowflake and they guy from Germany did. Here is the mold so far, before finishing and giving the end real shape.

Well I'm about to try it with sintra (after modifying the cardboard), so I'll try my technique. I think you have to make cuts, at least with the cardboard you do. I made cuts starting from about where it starts to curve at the top of the flat piece until theres about an inch left. Might need to make light cuts on the last inch in the middle, enough to make it bend the way you want. Same with the two lines coming from the arm holes to the flat part. I'll tell you how it goes.

Good luck man. Please take photos of each step if possible. I might need to follow your steps in the future. Remember that you can use bondo for finishing and it may save your work. Sintra takes bondo well depending where and how you apply it.
Good luck!!.

Ok I can't upload pictures now, but i fixed it yet again and I think I'm happy about it. The picture above is too curvy on the top part, so I fixed that. I'll try to upload the pictures again later. You do need to make cuts, and I think it would have been easier if I made a few more but overall I don't think it turned out too badly. Of course you'd need the newer pictures but I digress. Now I need to figure out how I'm gonna do this back part

I think the back is easier because it will be somehow covered by the backpack, which would forgive some mistakes.
Regarding the chest, remember that the bottom is only straight lines, not curved ones. I believe it is formed from a total of 5 straight lines. Take a look at the references and completed armors. The two at the sides, the two that go up diagonally to each corner of the botom of the flat belly, and the flat belly bottom.
By the way, I can't believe you could do this. I'll wait to see the improvements in the new pictures. I couldn't move any forward with mine yet.

Yeah I still need to clean it up a bit but really it wasn't that bad. How are you heating the sintra? I put the whole thing in the oven (I don't have a heat gun yet lol) and I actually formed it on my body for the most part. What part is causing you trouble?

img819.imageshack.us/img819/619/sany0019y.jpgThis is where I'm at now. I need to sand and even out where I circled in red, and the white circles show where I think should be straight as you said. img819.imageshack.us/img819/8562/sany0020s.jpgThis one shows that there's a slight curve where the neck hole is. It looks far more profound from the side in the picture, but you really can't see it (I personally think it looks pretty good, but that's not really for me to decide).
