Did some work on my HS GM lid this week. Got the eyes, back vent and neck trimmed up. Surface prepped and painted ( and weathered ) the 'dome'. Added some metal grille and fabric to the rear vent. This is it so far..... Darren

Nate,
I would prefer the metal mesh with my lid, if possible. Thank you.

I also have one of these excellent helmets and am slowly working on it. Love the beak and can't wait to finish it.

Got mine yesterday. Can't wait to start working on it. Fresh out of the box I have to say I am very impressed and quite happy with it.
Coming soon, comparison pictures of the Heatshock next to a SGB. I think I might be the only Marine to have one of each to compare.
One thing to think about is the ability to look down. I will have to see if the extra beak length will make that difficult. I had added an extra beak part to my SGB but I had to pull it off during my first troop because I could not look down to see the kids. The kids had a tendency to stand real close to me and many times I did not know they were even there. Thank goodness for my handler/wife. But that is something I had not even thought of until it happened.

In my experience most kids have a proximity alert. It's called a screaming parent. Hey Heatshock, are your helmets readily available? I would very much like to acquire one but I've got a heap of bills to pay at the moment. I'd be looking at grabbing one next month.

All good mate. We're used to paying through a crapload for shipping. Paradise it may be but Australia is close to nowhere.
Do you know roughly how much?

I just did a rough estimate for Krazy Ivan - it kinda surprised me as it turned out reasonable. only £60 a pop with my new carriers - they still use Fedex, so its with tracking and insurance etc.

What if we got our helmets shipped together? We could split the shipping costs and save a few bucks.
