Hello fellow GM's I have a question that has been puzzling me of late. Can anyone tell me What the spacing is on the shin armour for the straps? i.e. how far from the top and bottom and the space between the three straps.
Also what is everyone using to make these straps and how do i pull these tight when i put the shin on? I know they have to made slightly loose so you can open the clamshell up to get you leg in but was wondering how to tighten them once the clam shell is closed round my leg.
Thanks in advance

Actually, I believe the calf/shin is supposed to be entirely seamless. So you have to put yer foot in then put yer boot on. Most measurements on any costume are proportional to the wearer. Clones came from Jango and Tem Morrison is like 5' 9". A lot of us troops are not...nothing is exact. As long as it looks good, yer fine.

Depends on type of shin armor you have, Mr Bungle, OSCS, etc and how you set up your shin armor (open clam shell/seamless).

Planning on doing a clam shell. I was only after general measurements to give me some idea of where to place the straps.
As for the straps it would be really helpful if someone could tell me what they used to make them

I used 2 web style belts, and adjust/tightened them with clip buckles on my OSCS shin armor..

Thanks for that. I was thinking of gluing the web belts to the shin rather than go through the old tightening each time i put it on.

Thanks for that. I was thinking of gluing the web belts to the shin rather than go through the old tightening each time i put it on. No problem. Also the cut I made on the front bevel is cut out just right so the belts are pretty tight when passing in front of them and only need to adjust the clips when I put them on. They lossen up a bit after a while of wear but they stay in place for the most part.
