Hey Marines. Just wondering where all our artists are? Anyone interested in helping design our new logo? Any suggestions? I begun on a 3D version of our current 53rd COG.  Though after starting it I noticed we have an Imperial COG, though according to SW the Galactic Marines were around during the Clone Wars, so I'll redesign it with the Republic COG instead. If anyone has any new designs, feel free to post them here. |

On a different note,I was checking an old thread about t-shirts.Did that project ever go to print?

I was checking an old thread about t-shirts.Did that project ever go to print? T-Shirts never got off the ground. Hopefully once we have a new logo, and shirt design I'll see if we can get them done again. Though that won't happen until sometime next year. |

I'll see what my friend Barry ("Banzai88") can do (he is working on a GM build & an important part of the GM costume). He is also a graphic designer! I was thinking of putting the number 21 (for the 21st Nova Corps) in Star Wars aurabesh & then have that in the Republic cog for the symbol of this (possible) 501st detachment.

Keep us in the loop Illmatic. Sounds good. Here is an idea to throw out there, and perhaps your friend the graphic designer can run with this. Here is a picture of me in my GM. Let me reiterate that this is not a suggestion because it is me....rather I think it is a GREAT pose of a Galactic Marine (pointing the gun right at you) and you can clearly see some of the special features (ribbed shoulder bell).  If this could be transferred, converted, or made into a graphic image, have a burgundy republic cog as the physical shape of the logo with the marine pointing the gun at you. Have "21st Nova Corps" or "53rd Fast Attack Company" on the top (going form left to right, around the circular shape), then on the bottom you could have "501st Legion" (if detachment is formed) or " Galactic Marines" (again left to right, around the circular shape. Just an idea to throw out there, what do you all think? |

What about having a generic GM like the Blizzard Force Snowtrooper? I was just thinking about that design concept when it comes to patch & tshirt design. ; ) I was thinking about something along these lines:  |

Thinking of something not too complicated though, as that will cost lots of money when we get to the point of getting T-shirts, and other goodies made for the group. I have an idea for a new logo, or this design would make for a great patch, shirt, or one (1) side of a challenge coin. This is not the finished product, it is still being worked on with the help of a friend, but I thought I would show the membership the general WIP. Let me know what you think. Following the Galactic Marine action figure back / card as seen below:  I went with a republic cog for the background, but using roughly the same style and close color. In the center of the logo / design will be a Galactic Marine head, possibly looking up at you. My friend is currently working on that artwork as we speak. I used the term " The Best And Nothing Less" because as stated in the Wookiepedia, Commander Bacara demanded the best and nothing less from his men. Or perhaps across the bottom it could show " Specializing in Zero-G Combat & Planetary Assault ". This statement came via the back of the action figure, and is mentioned in the Wookiepedia. The 501st Legion banner is going to be removed. I thought for a challenge coin this could be the one side, and on the reverse side it could be our 53rd logo (specialized way the 53 was designed, but have it similar to the republic cog as far as color and scattered / ashy appearance. Or the 53 could be the same color as the Galactic Marine helmet (maroon or whatever is used). Let me know what you all think of this. Thanks.  |

That logo is looking cool. Though since we're not a 501st detachment (yet). We should go sans 501st logo on it (for the time being). Maybe the Challenge coin could have both logos on each side. Once with the Republic and one with the Imperial COG. Now that you put "The Best and nothing less" I'm thinking we should have a new Slogan/motto for us. And there is going to be an image of a Galactic Marine head in the middle of the logo. If anyone has any other ideas, or any tweaks to this first image, please post up your thoughts. Any and all input is appreciated. Trying to nail a new logo for our group so we can get some swag / merchandise going (challenge coin, shirts, patches, etc.).

I did another similar to midniterider's as it uses the Republic COG instead of Imperial. Also, it incorporates the 53 on it as our current logo does. Something about it, I'm still not too happy with. I'll play around with this COG for a while.  |
