Well, here i am, after three years i was starting to believe i would never write a topic like this... I started this project almost three years ago, i wanted to make a clonetrooper, and i choose the GM because i thought it was a good choice for "larger" guys like me. Since the very beginning i decided that i wanted to make everything from scratch... well i worked insanely hard the last month and yesterday i made my first troop with the 501st Italica Garrison (i've been a recruit for three years now!) and here are a bunch of pictures for you guys! This week end we had a major convention here in Rome, and i worked hard to build and set up the huge 501st boot we had this year. We had Jeremy Bullock as a special guest and i also had to attend the Spaghetti Prop (the Prop Forum i created last year) boot... Anyway i manage to complete the costume enough to be worn decently: still missing bicep bandolier, chest armor and chest bandolier greeblies, belt greeblies and straps to the kama, and kama grey border. Also the cowl is still to be made properly, the one in the pics was glued in place 5 minutes before i wore the costume. The blaster is a Hyperfirm my friend Dark-Side gave me for the event, since i still need one. You can find the progress thread here: 53rdfac.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=armor&action=display&thread=177comments and suggestion are very well welcome!

Great job. I too have been at this way too long. A bit over 2 years now. Mine was in a passable state last August. Good enough to make my first troop, but not good enough for 501st acceptance. You still have some work ahead of you but maybe it will come quick and easy now that you have been out and about in it. Great toe armor, and shins! By far the best part of your costume.
BTW, what are you doing in the last picture? It looks like you have just realized you are very late for a very important date, and Mr. Bullock is very worried about it.

ahah can't remember what i was doing! in a month i will totally remake the belt and cowl, the ones in the pics were made on sunday morning with the trooping in the afternoon I know how that rush feels. I wanted to go to the Clone Wars opening as a GM. I had everything pretty much done. The only major thing I was missing was a backpack...oh and a HELMET! I had ordered the helmet from SGB well in advance. I was assured it would ship and arrive at least 1 week before Clone Wars. Well one week before came and went with no helmet. SGB sent another priority so that i would be sure to have it. It came the morning of the opening. I had one day to start and finish a helmet kit. The other one did finally show up latter and I sent it back to him. I am very grateful to SGB for doing that.

Looking good snowflake. The hard work has paid off and it shows. Little minor things here and there, but should be no problem. Congratulations on your first official 501st troop. Your armor looks really nice, and more props to you since you've made yours from scratch. Kudos, ner Vod!

thanks! and it is very simple to do: just use a sponge to apply white water and then black water (just put a small amount of white or black acrylic paint into a lot of water)

Ahh nice one mate! awesome pics! Jeremy is a gentleman! He is a good friend of mine, I have been helping him sort some damage on his TDH Jetpack recently.
