Everything I've ever seen seemed that SGB had planned a V.2 but did not release it?
Anyone know better?

If he's open to constructive criticism you might mention our concerns about cheeks and the length of the helmet in the back.

I agree the helmet definitely looks more along the lines of what we're talking about here.
Looks like he's a member of TDH, wonder why he's not on here?

Phil-If you go under the helmet topic and see my thread I posted on getting the helmet SGB posts up on what material he used to make the helmet there. It was something he toyed with that destroyed his mold at the time....not sure what it is.
There was a thread over at CE or CT.net that SGB has started on his V2 helmet. This was WAY back when I bought my helmet from him so well over 1.5 years ago. I know the nose came down and have a more finished look like the screen caps. I don't remember about the back of the helmet though. SGB seems to be pretty open to suggestions but the hard part is catching up with him, LOL!

Not to beat a dead horse again, but what is the final on this, Cowl tacked down on the cheeks, or added plastic on the outside of the cowl visiable, I've seen some GM's both ways and want to get my lid done right! Thanks.

I firmly believe the cheeks are hard parts OVER the cowl. The gentle giant bust and 3d model of the marine seem to show that the cheeks progress down and back and become the thin piece we can see under the bottom of the helmet but above the cowl material in back. I'll post the shot of me and RAMZ side by side to demonstrate how both look. I'm on the left. The lighting doesn't really show the difference that well, but I really think hard plastic is the way to go. I will admit that Ramz and Torsoboy's GMs both have the cowl OVER the cheeks and they photograph VERY well. I haven't recessed my hard cheeks enough to show the depth.

let me just jump in here. my lid is quite different from SGB's the cheek are actually backed up, recessed behind the flare of the lid and continue onto the neck ring area. if you follow the upper rim of the V and glue it to the cheek recess that is there (its tricky, but you have to recess the vinyl BEHIND the flare as well). That combined with strategic placement of weathering, makes the recess really pop - you get it looking very well defined not to say its teh correct way of doing things, but its my interpretation of it to achieve the 'look'
