Thanks guys, I'm glad to have fellow marines checking up on me alright, here we go: Boots with toe armor (unpainted). Painted the toe armor last night. Still need to attach the circular cog greeblies and attach the second strap to the right calf. Next up is the right shoulder bell You can see detail here: I warped plastic over the original bell that came with the suit (more or less biker scout-shaped), as well as my biker scout bell and a couple different cans. To make the ribs I just drew lines on and then caulked on hot glue. It's not the prettiest thing ever, but it'll do. I think I'll use real caulk or something to do them better at a later time: Should have a test fitting tomorrow, Phil

Progress looks real nice. Kudos, Bro! Pretty soon you will need to update your signature with the GM on it.

Just a quick teaser, will have more pics this weekend after the parade... Took several pictures, forgot that I was taking pictures in the mirror the other day and turned the flash off, so this is the only picture that came out tonight, bummer, cause it's the worst pose, makes me look huge.

will do. This weekend I'm planning to catalog all the costume parts on my site. I'll post here when pics are up Alright folks, mission report: Did the St. Patrick's Day parade this morning (on 4 hours sleep lol, up late finishing the shoe armor and sewing velcro patches on for the shoulder bells. Everything fit very comfortably actually. My only complaint was that the shoe armor was too long to the back, basically cutting into the front of my ankles and keeping me from bending my foot upward (difficult for walking and curbs!) Backpack worked fine, not too heavy surprisingly, but it could be lightened up. Sgtcarida's DC15 long was heavy though lol, not sure which hand was more tired, the waving hand or the hand holding the rifle lol And for the piece everyone is waiting for: the cowl. It worked great. I could look straight down (or as down as my chest plate would allow) and turn my head very well. It also breathed much easier. It still bunches up a little but I'll wait for the pics to see how badly, I felt it worked pretty well though. And being able to look straight down was worth it alone Hope to have pics and video up soon Phil

Thanks everyone for checking in on my progress over the last few months Want to shout out to Wally (sgtcarida) for the awesome suit he put together, I really wish I could take more credit, but with a few exceptions, this is still his baby lol I've had lots of complements on the weathering of the armor, particularly the helmet and torso, all of which he did. So thanks to Wally for giving me such a sweet starting point! Here's the finished pictures for Galactic Marine V.1 (now that we have some 360 degree shots of the digital model, I have lots of upgrading to do!) Here we go: Upgrades to include: New bubbled lenses Real TC handplates Nyghtcraft pauldron New Jumpsuit Better shoe armor Accurate cheek piece that wraps around inside rear of helmet Cut helmet in back to give more accurate shape Tweak the backpack rigging or lighten it so it sits higher Possibly new belt boxes And, maybe, a hyperfirm DC15 long My wife kills me, asked her the other day, "Hey, what do you think about me spending $500 on a rubber rifle?" and she's like, "Go ahead." I had to explain to her that she's supposed to talk me out of things like that, not let me do it lol So we'll see Thanks again everyone! Phil

The GM armor looks sweet! Can't wait for my V2 to be done, that way the Marines can storm SDCC.

Looks great! I want to finish mine now. I just need a toe armor upgrade and a backpack to get 501st approved. Then upgrades until the end of time. But one step at a time. I want to get approved for FCBD May 2nd.
Can you throw together a backpack tutorial for us? The backpack is really stumping me.

...Then upgrades until the end of time... HA HA HA!!! You can say that again. I'm in the same boat. Me thinks for the backpack tutorial, you'd have to ask SgtCardia.
