I just got a PM over on CT.net For some prices on arms, Shoulder to hand. I can "make" it cheaper. BUT! It isn't gonna look like the good stuff over there. I'm gonna try my next attempt at this, but if it don't work out. I'm thinking of just saving my pennies and getting those pieces, a pair at a time. Man those are accurate looking.

Also, there is a greater sense of pride when you build them yourself. But it does take a lot of work and a lot of versions before you get it right.

It took me a year to finish mine, from idea to what you see in the pictures. There were many times where I went a whole month without doing any work on it. And there where periods where I worked on it from sun up to sun down for days at a time. Go at your own pace and do what is right for you.

I'm not gonna give up. But i might have to keep my options open. I've never been good at crafting. My goal is to be done by d-con 09'. My wife is into the Dark Hunter series of books. so she wants to go to some of the cons with me. which is cool! make it a mini-vacation. But anyway i've gottin some other ideas and will see ho they go. but saving pennies for chest/back/bucket.

It took me 2 weeks to go from individual parts to a fully built costume. Granted it's not 100% complete and it broke on me. Still, for 2 weeks worth of work, it is possible to have it done by DC 09. If I had more time it would look better, but the proof is in my pictures.

Very cool. I honestly prefer the homemade mantles to the nyghtcraft ones. He does good wood, but there is just something I can't put my finger on...
