Sorry for the double post. I finsished my armor. It still needs to be modded and tweaked. Here is a (Lousy cell phone) picture wearing my GM at the 12:01 Clone Wars release. I'll post better pictures later on. S/F -RamZ

looks good from that shot. bet your glad its over. Thanks! It's not 100% finished. I need to rework alot it. I rushed the armor just to have it ready for the Clone Wars (which I just saw it again). I have plenty of time now to work on it with more time to make it better. A few parts actually broke and fell off, but it's a good thing I had Duct tape handy for a quick fix. Plus, I've made the backpack, but I still need to figure out how to rig it one the backplate. Here are 4 more pics.

I like it Ram. What did you use for the undersuit by the way? Between that, boots, shins, I can't decide which of the 3 are more difficult to figure out. Although I just had a really cool idea for the undersuit (done as a 2-piece) hit me at work today, which I am going to try.

Although I just had a really cool idea for the undersuit (done as a 2-piece) hit me at work today, which I am going to try. [glow=red,2,300]Under Suit[/glow]: Black Under Armour type shirt, covered with a Grey T-Shirt (it just looks bulky since I have a fat gut. [glow=red,2,300]Boots[/glow]: I covered my Shoes in Vinyl, and the Toe Armor was a sculpted piece of super sculpey clay in Vinyl [glow=red,2,300]Shins[/glow]: They came with kit I bought. You can see then on the parts picture above. As you can see in the last picture, my calts are too fat and the shins don't close all the way. I ran out of Vinyl so I couldn't mickey mouse it in time. ...I'd love to hear your idea for the under suit. By the way I want to Thank [glow=red,2,300]Torso_boy[/glow] for setting up this site, [glow=red,2,300]SgtCardia[/glow] for hooking me up with the Blaster, [glow=red,2,300]Shunned[/glow] for selling me the GM kit, [glow=red,2,300]darkjawas[/glow] for posting the link for the shoes and [glow=red,2,300]everyone here[/glow] for the Help and Support.

Thanks for the info. My idea for the undersuit is actually pretty neat (to me at least) depending on a couple small little things. I was at Walmart the other day and I found that they have a section of Dickie's work clothes (for about $17 a piece) that are a really nice Dark Grey (I think the color is perfect). The pants are dress pants style (zipper and clasp are hidden) and the only problem with that is that they have the crease down the front middle of the pants (which I could try to iron out). The shirt is perfectly matched (color-wise) and is a long sleeve button down. But since the GM has no details on the undersuit, what I am thinking of trying is getting 2 shirts, and using the fabric cut out from the back to cover the buttons on the shirt and by being stitched to the shirt on one side and just velcroed together on the other side. There would be no details (zippers, etc.) and it would be comfortable two-piece design. Plus, the shirt would be long enough to tuck in to the pants so no skin would show. I could also add a little bit of fabric to the turned up collar make a makeshift neck seal. Shirt: www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5460715I can't find the pants on their site.

Pretty nice. I think it might work.
HA HA HA!!!
Since I am a former U.S. Marine, I actually ironed my trousers to have that crease for the 12:01 screening. It didn't come out too well since I didn't starch them. By the 8:15pm showing it was completely gone.
Don't mind me, I just thought that was funny.

That is awesome. I personally can't stand the way the crease looks, either for costume or regular clothes, so I would definitely try to get rid of them, but like I said, Wal-mart carries the matching pants and shirt. If you are looking for the crease, you should check it out.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep that in mind. Might have to go to Wal Mart after I get paid (since I blew most of my pay check trying to get my armor done in time). By the way, I know a few have asked, so here is the disappointment of a GM backpack. This is a Scrapped project, so until I have the time, resources, and better references. It will be a while before I make a new and improved pack.

[glow=red,2,300]UPDATE:[/glow] After viewing Journeyman's WIP, that motivated me to get some work done on my GM. As most of you know I rushed my armor so it would be done in time for the Clone Wars midnight realease (which I finsihed about 4 hours before the curtain went up). I decided to break it down and start from scratch and rebuild it in time for Halloween. Halloween came and went and my armor was in pieces. Well after 6 months, I decided to get some work done. I took me most of the day on Sunday just to work on the arms and I'm still not finished. Breaking out the Armor: My SGB bucket with the Hasboro and GG bust for reference: Rebondo the Gauntlets: In one day this is all I got done, it's the less than anticipated, but it looks a lot better than I thought it would. Note the Gauntlets are now seamless which something that lacked last time: Chilling with my buddy Zev, who is working on an RC clone "Boss" and a friend of his: Unfortunatley since I have finals at school, I probably won't have time to work on it for at least 2 weeks. My current deadline is 30 May since I was invited to MCB Camp Pendleton for a Clone Wars themed paintball event. This my motivation to have it 100% (again) for San Diego Comic Con 2009. -RamZ

Very cool, Ramz. Glad to see you back up and running What else do you plan to do to upgrade? I won't hijack your thread with my list, but I'll put one on my thread. Lots of little odds and ends. One thing that did help me avoid the gaps on my calves, was shimming them with vinyl (attached with velcro). They aren't 100% closed, but the white behind the gaps instead of grey really helps out I think And now we can both motivate one another, FOR I TOO WILL BE AT COMIC-CON! lol Now we just need to track down CommanderVoltaire and follow him around in his Bacara I met him last year, great guy, but didn't get to see his costume in person. Phil I'm stripping all the paint off everything so I repaint everything evenly, and make it easier to battle damage. With the arms, I gotta bondo the Biceps, and add the detail on the right shoulder. I need to shim the chest/back, and shins. Redo the Toes, and figure out how to make a good back pack. Once all that is done, it won't be 100% but it will be troopable and that's what I need to get done. Cool, It would be nice to see another GM at SDCC.
