While going thru many different ideas, and thought on how a chest plate is suppose to be, it got me on a hunt. While the standard snow trooper chest has to much front detail and GM does not, I went looking for another possible chest plate from the same movie (ESB) Genral Veers chestplate. Not as detailed as the standard TS chest, and very similar to the GM chest (still needs to be modified a little) . Just a thought, feel free to add you opinion about it. And if you must know I thought about it when I came across some selling an unfinish veers chest.

Though a good idea, do a little more searching and you'll find that the MR. Laws chest and back plate is the best.

Yeah I agree. I know Mr. Laws personally, and besides being a great guy, he REALLY did his research for the GM chest (and back plate) with a little bit of my own help. His GM chest IS the best. Not too expensive either. Even if you can find someone who makes the Gen. Veers chest at a decent price, you will end up modifying it and you will either 1) not like the outcome (like close but no cigar) or 2) you will spend more money on modding it than needed. Just save yourself the hassle, and buy the laws chest.

There is only one way to do a GM chest and back. And that is by contacting Mr. Laws. It doesn't make sense to do it any other way. It is one of the only ready made parts for this costume.

Hey, it was good thinking. But this part of the costume seems to be handled. What we really need are good ideas for shins and boots.

Same here....I know of at least three people who have made shins and toe armor BUT they haven't made for sale:-( THE hardest parts of the entire build.

"hardest part of the entire build". I agree there too. I had talked to a few people awhile back (one in particular) that said they were making a mold or were going to make a mold to sell some very nice shins. I'm not saying who it was, because I'm sure he is just busy and stuff, but damn, you know?

Has anyone tried to make them from scratch yet. I mean the calf is easy from what I can tell but the shins have that uniquely shape on the front. May take me a little while for me to duplicate.

Honestly, considering the guy who I knew/know who said he was making them (maybe still is, I just emailed him a few minutes ago), I have been waiting to buy a set instead of making them. I could, but as with other things, I have not made a lot of stuff myself. I don't really have the space for it at home, otherwise, I would try to make EVERYTHING. But until I get a defininte "no" from him, I think I will still wait for the shins.
