I seem to keep jumping from part to part here but I was wondering what folks are using as the "base" for the backpack??? I liked the idea of a "foam" build as I think it would be light weight & good for transporting. I'm open to suggestions, thanks gang.

I've gone through 3 varriants of the Backpack. Trying to make it functional. None of mine work. I'm almost at the point where I'm going to buy an ALICE pack from a Military Surplus Store and wrapping it in white Vinyl.

Oh okay do you think that backpack is a little big? Maybe it can be sized down a little. Otherwise it has the correct layout.

there are different sizes. It appears to be stuffed on the top picture. I have a medum sized one. I'll see if I can take a picture wearing it, and post it up.

It might be a pain in buttox to cover it in Vinyl if you want it functional, but it can be done ...if you are patient.

I was going to make mine with a tupperware base ( building up the sides for the correct shape ) & use "foam" for the side pockets. I might even make a cardboard mock-up then fiberglass over it as a base. I need some time for this project been real busy with work.

Might help me out with mine.
