I know that it is not exactly progress as far as GM armor is concerned, but I just bought one of the woodchuck DC-15A long rifles from spudtrooper over at ct.net. So I am finally going to have a nice DC long rifle for my regular marine armor. Heck, I don't need the armor for that, I will probably be stalking around my house with it just for the heck of it. I will post some pics when I get it.

Wow I'm out of the loop, I thought they were only making the shortie. What's this bad boy made of? How's the weight? I'm assuming the detail is excellent coming from woodchuck, but I really really want to see pics. Nice buy

Even if it is a little on the heavy side, I know I will love it. The pics are gorgeous. Even if I don't troop with it, it is HANDCARVED WOOD! I will post some pics that spudtrooper posted. Nevermind, I will just post the link (just don't forget to sign in, since only members of ct.net can view the for sale pages and this is from the for sale page): forum.clonetroopers.net/index.php?showtopic=6039Enjoy.

dear god that is sexy. I almost never use that term with props but this piece really warrants it. I'll have to buy one of these sometime, and I actually like the heft of wooden guns. It feels so much more like a real firearm instead of something superlight

I agree. I have a PA DC-15S (shorty/carbine) from kit form and I love it. I love everything about it, but I absolutely love the weight of it. It feels like it could be real to me with that weight. By the way Apollo, don't you love how the DC long I bought comes apart in 3 pieces for easy travel?

I think you'll be suprised at how light it actually is. When I got mine in the mail, I thought it must have fallen out of the box or something. I expected it to weight a lot more. The weight is great for trooping, though. I hardly notice it at all.

That's what I am hoping for. As the current thread is going over at ct.net, for the DC shorty, you could always add a sling. I mean, I guess you could add one to the long, but considering how nice this thing is (craftsmanship-wise) I don't think I will. I SO can't wait though.

the three piece design was another thing that really caught my eye. I haven't held one, but this looks like a superior piece all around

Me too... ...I might be close to broke for a little while. But I talked to Woodchuck last night and I really think it's going to be worth it. He said that he ships them completely painted like the first pic on the ct.net link. TOTALLY finished. Guy really takes pride in his woodworking skills. Of course, if I had skills like that, I probably would too.

Not trying to "highjack" your thread Jason. The DC15S that the General has is freakin AWSOME! It looks to be the correct size....pretty chunky so to speak. Looks like it come right out of ROTS! Did I ever post here that I scratch build my DC15 Rifle? Now before you look at the pictures keep a few things in mind. I only had wood, pvc, plastic, store bought items. It isn't 100% cannon at all but very close. I was going for a Cartoon Clone Wars and ROTS version. I have made 2 of them so far and have thought about revising it more and maybe offering it for sale? Here are 2 pictures of my current one: As you can see it is long and thick. I think it is 53.5" from stock to tip. Heavy? Depends on what you consider heavy. I've done lane training as an M60 gunner........ It isn't heavy to me. It is all one piece but I could design it to come apart at the end of the upper/lower reciever assembly. I've been thinking of adding a "Ranger sling" but haven't looked for the strap yet. It would be easy to mod a sling system onto it. Would it be cannon? Nope but if you've trooped at any event with a Rifle you know it is a PITA to carry it around though the crowd.

that's a very nice looking gun. I see a couple of proportion issues with the receiver, but otherwise it's really very good and I'd be proud if I'd made it. As far as heavy goes, can you give us an actual weight?

I wish I could give you a weight. I'd venture a guess at a little more then an M16A2 but not by much. I can't for the life of me remember how much that weights?
Yep like I said I wanted a "chunky" Clone Wars style. The receiver is actually a 4x4 cut down!
