Ok...so I was going over in my head the past few days what to arm myself with once my GM armor is complete.
The list of things I can make when cross referenced with what might work with the Universe and Era is pretty short...but then I had an epiphany.
What about the ACP Array from the Republic Commando game? The GAR surely had a few run ins with the Trandoshans during this period, and the highly pragmatic Galactic Marines undoubtedly would see the utility of a shotgun style weapon for boarding/close combat operations. Plus, they are really cool looking.
As a bonus, I think I can make one fairly easily.

Of course, for 501st membership, you'll need a canon weapon in your arsenal (DC-15 long or shortie). But there's no stopping you with whatever else you arm yourself with. I used (and still have) a Verpine Sniper Rifle from the RC books. Got any pics of the Trandy Shotgun?

Dude. The trando shotgun would be KILLER! I love the idea. I always loved how the pump handle was perpendicular to the body of the gun instead of parallel like most weapons.

TorsoBoy... No, no pics yet. Haven't actually built the thing. It's even farther behind my armor, in that I have at least started gathering stuff for the armor. I only had the idea...what was it...last night? (working retail through the holidays sort of makes the days blend together).
I do realize I'd need something canon for the 501st, but was thinking of something a little more personal for "social occasions."
I'll post pics as soon as I have anything, but don't get your hopes up...prolly not going to be as cool as some of your guys' stuff.
ShadowEclipse13... Yeah, that was one of my original draws to the idea, the horizontal handle just seems like such a nice touch. Like the side handle on some British sub-guns (STEN I think).

Yeah I always liked the British submachineguns. I don't think it was STEN, I think was the Sterling SMG (which is actually the gun they used for the stormtrooper E-11's in the original trilogy, and in a few Bond movies). Although, on the sterling, it wasn't a handle, it was the magazine itself. Still could use it as a handle though.

of all the RC guns this one would probably be the easiest to make, I was considering it for a while. It would look pretty sweet, and from a design standpoint the colors would go well the the GM burgundy

I think so too. Even if it didn't, I would still give precentorjames a big "YEA" of building it. If I get a few minutes, I will try to look for references pics. I can ask some of the guys over at ct.net too.

if you're going to ask anybody at ct.n, just pm Leeran. He's gotten tons of reference for me on multiple RC guns.

Hehe...don't know why I did not think of that.
I usually just pause the game at various points of the shot and draw the angles I need.
This worked great for the vibroblade, but I had not tried it with the ACP array yet.

I know this isn't an RC board, but did you make the vibroblade? I would like to see that.

I was thinking of building an ARC Z6? The one that has the round ammo pouch looking thing to the front of the trigger. It comes with the ARCs from the original CW figures. I have Cmdr Bacara holding one in formation with my GMs and he looks good with it. I would figure that the GMs would be able to use whatever equipment they wanted and found along the way. I apply a "real world" approach to that thinking the GMs would have been outfitted to the max and always going into a "worst case" senerio. I do have a short and rifle DC15 so no worries for "submission" pics. I'll decide once I get closer to being done. Now if only my chest and back armor get here soon.....

GMs use the Z-6 in BF so it's more than acceptable

I know this isn't an RC board, but did you make the vibroblade? I would like to see that. Umm, work in progress actually. I have a very reliable steelsmith (my dad) grinding it out of a toro mower blade, probably as I'm typing this. The man has a work ethic that is downright herculean. I was going to put a grip on it, because the GM has no gauntlet mounting device. Plus, this was more of a knife interest project rather than costuming. I'll definitely post pics when I have it all set up. Astonishingly, the pause and draw method worked incredibly here, because at one point on 'Boss' withdrawal, his hand (and therefore blade) are a 1:1 ratio on my monitor. A miracle of graphics and screen proportion...like it was meant to be. sgtcarida: Yeah, that's about what I figure about GM practicality. The Trandoshan shotgun is supposedly fairly good against shields (I never tried that in the game ), but it really shines against organics. Stinks like Bantha poo against Tinnies, though. Maybe I'll caryy that plus a DC-15s? Ought to cover the bases, right?

What the heck am I thinking? I was thinking of this: starwars.wikia.com/wiki/WESTAR-M5_blaster_rifleEven if it does say it was used by the GMs that isn't the reason I'd want to carry it. Just read about it........kick butt rifle and very versitle. I also like the fact that it is smaller then the DC15 Rifle and larger then the DC15 shorty. Now I just have to figure out how to build it:-)

It is a cool rifle to make (I might be making one as well) but you're going to have a hard time explaining why you're carrying an ARC rifle. I think you should make it since it is so nice, just saying that you're going to get some questions
