I know that you like constructive criticism and while I know that it's not perfect I like it. Great job Youngling. So is that the resin copy or the wooden original?

Sorry Jason that is the wood original. I still haven't bought the molding material yet let alone the resin. When It is dont I will gladly show pics of it. Also I am still adding a few thins some of the small details that go on the barrel and I need to add a small nozle at the end.
BTW Ianl I just saw that as I checked the thread can't beleive I did that. WHY DO THE 1 AND 2 KEYS HAVE TO BE SO CLOSE!

You're sorry that it's the wood copy? I'm absolutely impressed that you could make the wood copy look that good. Seriously, I love making guns and s*** out of wood, but I have NEVER been able to make something that awesome from wood.

Hey Jason what I meant was that I was sad I did not have a resin copy yet it should be coming soon cause I am going to be ordering my molding rubber tomorrow. Also Thanks for the kind words. I put atleast 150+ hours into it and it still isn't perfect.
Lastly this is an interest thread too so any one interested in getting one I will surly make on after I get the mold and the resin. Oh lastly if any one is interested in a DC long please post here If I get atleast 3 people interested I will start working on making one for casting.

I would be interested in a nice DC-15A (long rifle). Nobody makes one that looks really good in my opinion and it would be nice to have one. Would you use the main assembly from the carbine and just add to it (PVC, stock, etc.)? If so, then I will be willing to get one from you.

YL
Do you have any experience working with expansive modeling foam? The problem with all the DC-15L's is that they come out extremely heavy when cast of resin. Any ideas to make one light, and I'm all for one.

I will put you down Jason. As far as your question Ianl the most expeirience I have had with the foam is insulating pipes and walls and electrical and a few sealing problems. I have never tried using it for the guns. But I do have expeirince with the material yes. Oh thanks to whoever fixed my name I noticed that. DC-15 LONG 1 Jason (shadow) 2 3

I am thinking of molding it tomorrow. After I mold it I will be trying to get ahold of some plastic paste for my helmet mold and with luck (if a friend of mine will agree) I will be able to order some ROTO with it. So be expecting some progress soon.

Allright everybody I molded up the DC-15 and I molded up the ammo box. I also molded up the folding stock. It is going to be 1 peice. You guys are gonna love this. The process on molding the Deece was much harder than even molding up my helmet. the problem I had is it has detial on both sides so I couldn'st just lay it on one said and mold it up. The other problem was that it I couldn't prop it up because then the rubber still wouldn't catch all the detail and it would drip off of it. I came up with a solution. I made a sort of basin around the outline of my gun with clay. After spraying everything with a release agent (PAM) I then poured about and inch of rubber in the bottom of the "basin" after letting the rubber set for aobut a minute so it would be a little harder but still catch all the detail I put the gun in it and it sank about a half an inch. After that I did the normal process of brushing it on. I got about 4 layers on before I had to stop because of the fact that I was running out of of rubber and I have to save some for the Neyo helmet I am making. Anyways here are pics of the process. Here is the gun all painted in flat black. Here are pics of all the stuff needed Here are pics of the "basins" and peices Pics of the final molds curing And finally ... A dirty bowl
