Oh...yeah the stuff I'm thinking of is 2-part and comes in a black blister pack. It's kind of yellow when you dispense and mix it. Anrev, if you have a pic or link to the stuff you are referring to, please post.

Pinned this thread because it is an Episode III CANON weapon for Galactic Marines.

I am going to mod a Hasbro DC-15 using some of the steps in this thread:
<http://www.501neg.com/wiki/doku.php?id=costuming:clone_trooper_blaster_hasbro_conversion_as_done_by_ct-7768>
But I want the folding stock to be operational. Do any of you have any ideas on how to make that happen? I do have a Vintage Kenner Stormtrooper rifle with the folding stock to look at as a model.

make a folding stock out of spare plastic or sheet metal and screw it on. Easy as pie The creation of the parts and attachment are not the most difficult part. What I can't figure out is how to keep the stock in folded up position. The old toy had a plastic clip that the folded up stock snaped onto. Is anyone familiar with the old Kenner gun I am talking about? Or am I not making sense everytime I mention it? If you have one, take a look at it an see how we can re-create the folding stock.

Check this site out. These guys are awesome. They have a lot of costume ideas, and most all of their stormie costumes are ENTIRELY made from scratch. They show you how to do body casting and everything. Nice guys. Anywho, this link I am putting here is their tutorial for a full metal scratch-built homemade E-11 (stormtrooper) blaster rifle. Click the link and on the left-hand menu click folding stock: www.studiocreations.com/howto/blasterrifle/main.html

If you screw the screws on tight it won't move. I did this with a scratchbuilt e-11. You could also use magnets, I guess

See, I like that idea. Especially since the rifle is already black. If you found a good place for the magnets, they wouldn't stick out.

Not necessarily. You'd want Rare Earth Magnets, as simple refridgerator-grade magnets are horrible. Rare Earth magnets typically come in a wondefully shiney silver or even a brass color, so you'd have to paint them. But one Rare Earth magnet should be more than enough to hold up the folding stock on a Carbine.

Yeah I know. I would never recommend to anyone to use a fridge-type of magnet.

I have some round black magnets that seem pretty strong. I will have to test them.
The clip method shown on the studio creations site looks like it will work too.

Yeah I agree. My only beef with the idea from studiocreations is that unless you used a big really strong piece of metal, overtime and usage, that holding tab could bend out of whack. I just would rather (and do have) my rifle not have a folding stock. For the clone rifle at least. For an E-11 stormtrooper rifle, I might do that.

I will have to get at least my arms and chest done and see how the unfolded stock feels. I love the way it feels without armor. When I first got that Kenner blaster and held it with unfolded stock it just felt right. I don't know.

Stocks always feel nice, that's why I add them instead of just going with a resin casting. There are ceramic magnets that are round and black and very strong (might be what you have) that could work well.
