I took 2 years of architecture Snowflake. I know all about little details, I am just saying that in this case, if someone were posssibly thinking about making vac-formed boxes to put vinyl onto for an easy GM backpack kit, the boxes wouldn't need details. Just basic shapes.

I just think it would be easier to have pre-formed pieces that are uniform in size and shape to work from, I would most likely be making mine from .080" HIPS as that is what I have. ABS while nice is twice the cost and a bit more difficult to work with. We'll see what I come up with

The only "caution" I'd point out is weight. The lighter the better.

The only "caution" I'd point out is weight. The lighter the better. Absolutely! I think this will be the least weighty method for pack construction.

I was expecting someone to say something like that, Snowflake. The general consensus of the prop builders I've met is that God is in the details. Can you imagine the uproar if someone started selling armor pulled from superthick ABS?

sorry guys, i didn't get you were talking about "vac formed abs details"... consider my sentence as a general purpose one

np. Seeing that sentence on a costuming site is kind of disconcerting anyway

I think the pac looks good. Do you have measurements? Also, how dense is the foam you used?

Don't even sweat it, I (temporarly) gave up on the backpack after 7 tries.

If ya don't mind me asking Ram, would you mind posting a tutorial or dimensions of your pack?
